Pedaling Forward with Purpose

Cycling continues to gain momentum in the Philippines, not only as a competitive sport but also as a practical and sustainable way of life. Supporting this growing movement, McDonald’s Philippines has partnered with the 2026 Tour of Luzon as the official meal provider, helping fuel one of the country’s biggest cycling events with more than 8,000 meals throughout the multi-stage race.

Ahead of the highly anticipated tournament, McDonald’s organized a special kickoff activity called the “Heritage Ride,” bringing together cycling enthusiasts, company executives, and partners for a scenic biking event in Batangas. The ride began at CaSoBē in Calatagan and stretched over 60 kilometers, with participants making a stop at McDonald’s Balayan for a quick refresh and rest.

The initiative reflects McDonald’s growing commitment to active mobility and sustainability through its Green and Good program, which encourages environmentally responsible practices while promoting healthier lifestyles. According to McDonald’s Philippines Managing Director Margot Torres, supporting cycling initiatives like the Tour of Luzon helps highlight the importance of biking as an eco-friendly and cost-efficient mode of transportation.

As part of its sustainability efforts, several McDonald’s branches across the country now feature bike-friendly facilities through its Bike & Dine concept. These specially designed areas provide cyclists with secure bike parking, rest areas, and access to repair tools while enjoying their favorite meals and beverages.

McDonald’s has also continued to expand its cycling advocacy through Ride the Arches, a pioneering initiative launched in 2023 that encourages riders to travel from one McDonald’s branch to another, using the iconic Golden Arches as pit stops along the route. The program has attracted both experienced cyclists and newcomers looking to explore biking in a more accessible and enjoyable way.

To further celebrate the excitement surrounding the Tour of Luzon, McDonald’s is offering an exclusive Luzon-wide McCafé promo until May 31. Customers can enjoy two 16oz McCafé Iced Coffee Original drinks for only ₱89 through the McDo App, available for dine-in, take-out, and drive-thru transactions.

Through its partnership with the Tour of Luzon, McDonald’s continues to show that supporting sports can go beyond sponsorships—helping create stronger communities, encourage healthier habits, and promote more sustainable ways of moving forward.
