Ortigas Art Festival Closes 9th Edition with National Recognition

The 9th Ortigas Art Festival concluded its successful run at GH Mall in Greenhills on July 31, capping off more than two weeks of celebrating Filipino creativity while earning recognition from two of the country’s leading newspapers, The Philippine Star and Philippine Daily Inquirer. The milestone reflects the festival’s growing influence as one of Metro Manila’s premier cultural events dedicated to making art more accessible to the public.

With this year’s theme, “Elevate,” the festival transformed GH Mall into a vibrant cultural destination where visitors enjoyed a diverse lineup of visual arts, photography, independent films, live performances, and interactive workshops—all offered free of charge. By bringing art into a bustling commercial space, the festival continued its long-standing “Art for All” advocacy, encouraging families, students, collectors, and first-time art enthusiasts to experience creativity in an inviting environment.

Among the highlights were exhibitions honoring National Artists Virgilio Almario for Literature and Salvador Bernal for Theater Design, alongside works by renowned environmental sculptor Junyee, this year’s featured artist. The festival also showcased galleries and artist collectives from across the country, celebrating both established names and emerging Filipino talents. Independent film screenings, musical performances, dance presentations, and hands-on workshops further enriched the experience, turning the festival into a multidisciplinary celebration of Philippine arts and culture.
