MR.DIY Philippines Wins Big for Empowering Communities and Sustainability

MR.DIY Philippines, led by CEO Ms. Roselle Mirasol Andaya (middle), proudly receives the ESG Initiative of the Year – Philippines award at the Retail Asia Awards 2025. Held June 4 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, this recognition reaffirms MR.DIY’s commitment to responsible retail and positive community impact

MR.DIY Philippines has been honored with the ESG Initiative of the Year – Philippines award at the 2025 Retail Asia Awards in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, recognizing the company’s powerful blend of affordability, community impact, and environmental responsibility. Since entering the Philippine market in 2018, MR.DIY has rapidly expanded from just six stores to 700 branches nationwide, strategically placing 77% of its stores in underserved areas to make home improvement products more accessible to Filipino families.

Beyond retail growth, MR.DIY has become a key driver of local employment and livelihood, creating over 4,300 store-level jobs by 2024, with most employees hired directly from their communities through partnerships with local government units. This people-centered strategy has turned MR.DIY branches into sources of opportunity, boosting both local economies and household incomes.

The company has also strengthened its support for Filipino suppliers, achieving a significant 83% year-on-year growth in local partnerships. In 2024 alone, MR.DIY allocated PHP1.9 billion to locally sourced products, enabling small businesses to thrive as part of its expanding network.

Environmental sustainability is another pillar of MR.DIY’s success. Through its Good Bag Campaign, the company actively promotes the reduction of plastic waste while supporting vital causes such as reforestation, healthcare, and education. By the end of 2024, MR.DIY had sold 7.6 million eco-friendly bags, funding the planting of 2,000 seedlings, medical aid for 3,449 individuals, and the distribution of school supplies to nearly 1,900 students across the country.

“Our growth is driven by a deep commitment to making life better for Filipino families,” said Roselle Marisol Andaya, Chief Executive Officer of MR.DIY Philippines. “We’re proud to prove that business success, social responsibility, and environmental care can go hand in hand. Wherever there’s a home, there’s always room for MR.DIY.”

The company’s win at the Retail Asia Awards highlights its exceptional approach to integrating sustainability and community-building into every aspect of its business. MR.DIY Philippines joins other MR.DIY country winners in this achievement, including Indonesia and Thailand, further solidifying the brand’s leadership in the Asian retail space. The Retail Asia Awards celebrates the best of the best in retail excellence, innovation, and impact across the region.
