Mobility in Motion: MIAS 2026 Opens

The future of transportation takes center stage as the Manila International Auto Show 2026 officially opens its doors, welcoming visitors to both the World Trade Center Metro Manila and the Philippine Trade Training Center. Building on the momentum of its 20th anniversary last year, the country’s premier automotive event returns with renewed energy, drawing together car enthusiasts, industry leaders, and global brands in a shared space that highlights how mobility continues to evolve.

This year’s theme, “Powering Mobility,” reflects a broader shift within the automotive landscape—one that goes beyond showcasing vehicles and instead focuses on how technology, sustainability, and collaboration are shaping the way people move. From electric vehicles to smarter transport systems, the exhibit captures a moment where innovation is no longer a distant concept but an active, visible transformation happening in real time.

The opening ceremony set the tone for the four-day event, gathering key figures from both government and private sectors. Hosted by James Deakin, the program brought together voices that represent different parts of the mobility ecosystem. Joseph L. Ang emphasized how the industry continues to adapt despite global challenges, pointing to developments in new energy vehicles, EV infrastructure, and commercial mobility solutions as areas of growth. The presence of representatives from institutions such as the Department of Trade and Industry, Land Transportation Office, and Automobile Association Philippines further underscored the collaborative effort needed to move the sector forward.

Across both venues, visitors are met with an expansive showcase featuring more than 500 vehicles and 25 participating car brands. Each display offers a glimpse into what lies ahead—from concept models and hybrid technologies to fully electric units designed for modern urban living. Interactive exhibits and immersive experiences allow guests to engage more closely with the innovations, turning the event into more than just a display, but a learning space for understanding the future of transport.

Now on its 21st edition, MIAS continues to evolve alongside the industry it represents. Running until April 12, 2026, the event stands as a reflection of how mobility is being redefined—not just by machines, but by ideas, partnerships, and a shared vision of progress.
