Hot Wheels Convention Brings Collectors and Car Culture Together at Okada Manila

The world of miniature cars came to life on a much bigger scale as the 2026 Philippines Hot Wheels Collectors Convention gathered collectors, automotive enthusiasts, families, and young fans at the Crystal Pavilion of Okada Manila.

Held on September 5 and 6, the convention transformed the venue into a celebration of die-cast collecting, real-world automotive culture, racing, creativity, and community. Building on previous editions organized with Richprime Global Inc. and Metrics, this year’s event introduced more interactive attractions and experiences for both longtime enthusiasts and a new generation of Hot Wheels fans.

Among the convention’s major attractions were full-size vehicles inspired by Hot Wheels designs. A Nissan Skyline GT-R-inspired 1:1 display became one of the event’s centerpieces, offering visitors a glimpse of how the familiar world of 1:64-scale collecting translates into an actual automotive showcase.

Customized and enthusiast-owned vehicles from Decal Republic added to the experience, highlighting the close relationship between Hot Wheels collecting and the broader car customization and enthusiast community.

Another highlight was the Philippine introduction of the Mattel Brick Shop, bringing together building, creativity, and collectible automotive designs. Visitors were also welcomed into a dedicated Hot Wheels Let’s Race area, where children and families could enjoy track activities, race cars, and explore displays inspired by the animated series.

The convention also welcomed 7-Eleven Philippines as an official partner. Its participation featured a dedicated Hot Wheels collaboration showcase, including a life-size Hot Wheels-inspired vehicle that provided another popular attraction for guests.

For serious collectors, one of the most anticipated appearances came from Brendon Vetuskey, Hot Wheels Lead Designer. Fans had the opportunity to meet the designer behind some of the cars they collect through signing and sketching sessions. Personalized signatures and artwork gave collectors a chance to turn their favorite pieces into unique convention souvenirs.

Beyond the large installations, the collector marketplace remained an important part of the gathering. Tables filled with Hot Wheels models gave enthusiasts opportunities to search for rare releases, purchase new additions, trade pieces, and connect with other members of the community.

The event demonstrated how Hot Wheels culture in the Philippines has grown beyond simply collecting miniature vehicles. It has become a shared interest connecting generations through design, racing, automotive culture, and the excitement of discovering a sought-after model.

With real cars standing alongside their miniature counterparts, interactive racing experiences, exclusive collectibles, and a thriving marketplace, the 2026 convention brought different sides of the Hot Wheels community under one roof—proving that for Filipino collectors, the passion for cars can come in every size.
