Holcim Philippines, Inc. (HPI) continues to reinforce its commitment to community development by joining the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2024, themed “Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa.” Through its flagship corporate social responsibility program, Holcim Helps, the company mobilized close to 300 employee volunteers and extended support to around 6,000 students across its host communities in Bulacan, La Union, Davao, and Lugait.

In La Union, Holcim took a step further by constructing two dedicated Reading Hubs in Barangay Quirino, providing young learners with a conducive space to improve their reading skills. The hubs were outfitted with air conditioning units and brand-new learning materials to create a more engaging and comfortable environment for both students and volunteers. Barangay Captain Marvin B. Cardinez expressed his gratitude, highlighting how the facility will benefit not only students but also youth leaders and local government units.

Company-wide, Holcim employees actively participated in school preparations, offering cleaning supplies, paint, and tools for minor repairs to enhance school facilities ahead of the new academic year. These efforts underscore Holcim’s belief that better learning spaces contribute to better learning outcomes.

Holcim’s participation in Brigada Eskwela is part of its broader goal to build resilient, thriving communities. The company continues to invest in social impact initiatives that span education, health, infrastructure, and the environment, all aimed at fostering inclusive progress and long-term sustainability.
