Henry Sy Foundation supports University of San Carlos’ Diamond Jubilee Campaign

The Henry Sy Foundation, inc. (HSFI) has extended its support to the University of San Carlos (USC) as part of the university’s Diamond Jubilee initiatives.

This partnership was highlighted during a collaboration for social good event held at the SM Prime Headquarters in Pasay City on October 22, 2024.

HSFI, driven by its core mission to empower Filipino youth and foster a culture of achievement and excellence, provides strategic support to educational institutions in order to advance Philippine social development. Through these partnerships, the foundation continues to create opportunities for young Filipinos by strengthening and enhancing educational institutions across the country.

The support of the Henry Sy Foundation adds to USC’s partnerships as the university campaigns for its Diamond Jubilee initiatives.

The event was graced by representatives from both institutions. From USC, those in attendance included USC President Fr. Francisco Antonio Estepa, SVD, Board of Trustees Chair Fr. Dionisio Miranda, SVD, USC Trustee Dr. Conchita Manabat, Atty. Maria Milagros Fernan-Cayosa, and Atty. Domingo Cayosa. The HSFI and SM Group were represented by HSFI Trustee and SM Prime Executive Committee Chairman Hans Sy, SM Hotels and Conventions Chairperson and President Elizabeth Sy, HSFI Trustee and SM Foundation (SMFI) Executive Director Debbie Sy, HSFI Executive Director Dr. Lydia Echauz, HSFI and SMFI Trustee Engr. Ramon Gil Macapagal, HSFI Treasurer Virginia Yap, and SMFI Trustee Dr. Paulino Tan.

In appreciation of Henry Sy Foundation’s support, USC president Fr. Francisco Antonio Estepa presents a commemorative token to Mr. Hans Sy.

This collaboration is part of USC’s five-year Research, Infrastructure, Scholarships, and Endowment (RISE) campaign, which focuses on strengthening these key areas. The RISE campaign reflects USC’s commitment to enhancing its campus and expanding community engagement, with this partnership adding another significant milestone to the university’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
