Globe will be increasing internet speeds for a number of GFiber Plan postpaid subscribers at no additional cost. The upgrade, which requires no registration or extra payment, will be implemented automatically for qualified customers.
The speed boosts will be determined based on the length of a customer’s subscription, with some plans reaching speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps). In addition to the speed increase, eligible customers will receive an upgraded WiFi 6 modem at no extra cost. The new modem is designed to handle up to 50 connected devices, improve streaming and gaming performance, reduce latency, and provide enhanced built-in security. The modem replacement will come with a renewed 24-month lock-up period.
According to the company, the program is intended to meet the growing connectivity needs of households that rely heavily on stable and fast internet for work, school, entertainment, and daily communication. The rollout aims to address increased demand for higher bandwidth and to improve the overall customer experience.
The speed upgrades will be rolled out gradually, with customers receiving notifications through the GlobeOne mobile app. No action will be required from users to activate the faster speeds, as the changes will be applied automatically to eligible accounts.
To qualify for the upgrade, customers must have an active account with no outstanding bills. The GlobeOne app can also be used to check updated connection speeds, manage account details, and process payments.
The introduction of faster speeds and upgraded equipment reflects a broader trend in the telecommunications industry, where service providers are adapting their offerings to match rising data consumption and the increasing number of connected devices in households.
For many consumers, higher speeds and improved network hardware can significantly enhance online activities, from video conferencing and cloud-based work to streaming in ultra-high definition and participating in competitive online gaming. With these upgrades, subscribers are expected to experience more stable and responsive connections without additional costs to their current plan.
