Cebuana Lhuillier’s Kanegosyo Center (KNC) is raising the bar in MSME empowerment with its latest collaboration with Suy Sing, the country’s leading one-stop grocery distribution company. Through this partnership, small business owners are gaining not only vital knowledge but also direct access to financial tools designed to help them thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The recent installment of Suy Sing’s Retail Academy highlighted one of the biggest hurdles entrepreneurs face—tax compliance. With over 200 MSMEs in attendance, the academy featured Mon Abrea, Global Tax Policy Expert and Chief Tax Advisor of the Asian Consulting Group (ACG), who led an insightful session titled “Pass the Tax Audit Today. Prevent LOAs Tomorrow.” His talk underscored how understanding tax obligations is key to stability and long-term success for small retailers.
KNC’s active participation turned the event into more than just a learning session. It became a platform for MSMEs to discover financial opportunities through Cebuana Lhuillier’s business loans, microinsurance, and savings products—solutions that directly address the daily challenges of small entrepreneurs.
“Our partnership with Suy Sing reflects Cebuana Lhuillier’s commitment to providing entrepreneurs with both knowledge and access,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “Through the Kanegosyo Center, we’re helping MSMEs not only learn how to run their businesses better, but also giving them the financial tools to secure and grow them.”
For Cebuana Lhuillier, empowerment means creating a complete ecosystem of support—combining education, financing, and community collaboration. Annette Tirol, Senior Vice President and Group Head for Strategy, Market Development, Data, and Customer Engagement, emphasized this integrated approach:
“KNC isn’t just a learning hub—it’s a launchpad for success. By pairing training with access to credit, insurance, and savings, we’re making sure MSMEs can transform lessons into real business growth.”
Through initiatives like this, Cebuana Lhuillier’s Kanegosyo Center continues to live up to its mission: empowering Filipino entrepreneurs to become smarter, stronger, and more sustainable—one partnership at a time.
