Empowering Futures: Winford Manila’s Commitment to Youth Education

The ceremony was led by Jeff Evora, WRCM President and COO, and the pledge was personally received by Fr. Antonio Pascual, Executive Director of Caritas Manila.

On May 6, 2025, Winford Resort & Casino Manila (WRCM), through its corporate social responsibility arm, Winford Manila Foundation Inc., proudly reaffirmed its commitment to education by awarding a ₱4 million donation to Caritas Manila in support of the Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP). This donation aims to fuel the dreams of underprivileged youth through access to quality education and leadership training.

The ceremonial turnover marked the official handover of the full pledge, with the first ₱1 million tranche already released on April 28, 2025. The remaining amount will be distributed annually, ensuring consistent and sustainable support for the scholars benefiting from the program.

Jeff Evora, WRCM President and COO, led the ceremony and handed over the donation to Fr. Antonio Pascual, Executive Director of Caritas Manila. Both leaders expressed their strong belief in the power of education as a tool for transformation and social upliftment.

The partnership is part of a broader mission by Winford Manila Foundation Inc., led by Darwin Cusi, WRCM’s Vice President for Gaming Operations. Also present at the event in support were WRCM Executives Sab San Pedro, Director for Marketing, and John Rocky Leona, Assistant Director for Finance.

For us at Winford Manila, education is more than just learning—it’s a lifeline,” said Evora. “It opens doors and tears down walls. By supporting YSLEP, we’re investing in the future of the nation through the youth who will lead it.”

Fr. Pascual expressed gratitude for the renewed partnership, highlighting the far-reaching impact of such support. “When companies like Winford Manila Foundation Inc. stand with us, they’re not only helping students complete school—they’re also empowering families and revitalizing entire communities.”

YSLEP, the flagship education program of Caritas Manila, has already helped more than 13,000 scholars since its inception. In the 2023–2024 academic year alone, the program supported 4,240 scholars, with 1,589 graduates—among them high-achieving students, including two summa cum laude and 29 magna cum laude awardees.

The event was also attended by Darwin Cusi, WRCM Vice President for Gaming Operations and head of Winford Manila Foundation Inc., along with other key executives including Sab San Pedro, Director for Marketing, and John Rocky Leona, Assistant Director for Finance. Their presence underscored the foundation’s collective commitment to educational advocacy.

Through this ongoing partnership with Caritas Manila, Winford Manila Foundation Inc. continues to champion education as a powerful force for change—one that gives hope, nurtures leadership, and empowers Filipino youth to rise above poverty and shape a brighter future.
