Empowering Filipino Welders Through Collaboration and Opportunity

A groundbreaking partnership between Powerhouse Tools, a leading provider of welding and construction equipment, and Power Skills Technical Center (PSTC) is set to revolutionize welding education in the Philippines. With the shared goal of advancing technical skills and supporting economic growth, Powerhouse Tools has donated 12 inverter machines and 12 angle grinders to PSTC, equipping students with state-of-the-art tools to excel in a competitive industry.

This collaboration merges Powerhouse Tools’ dedication to innovation with PSTC’s expertise in vocational training, empowering both aspiring and seasoned welders. Through this initiative, trainees will gain hands-on experience in advanced techniques, from welding joints and blueprint reading to vertical-up and overhead welding. The Shielded Metal Arc Welding program is designed to prepare participants for global standards, opening doors to better job opportunities both locally and abroad.

PSTC President Michael Louie Jose emphasized the importance of nurturing Filipino talent to meet global demands, while Kendrick Siy, sales and marketing director of Powerhouse Tools, highlighted the critical role of high-quality equipment in achieving industrial excellence. Together, they aim to strengthen the welding community, enhance livelihoods, and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

This partnership is especially timely as global demand for Filipino welders continues to rise. Countries like Poland, Denmark, and Saudi Arabia are actively recruiting skilled welders due to labor shortages, offering thousands of opportunities in construction and industrial fields. By investing in education and tools, Powerhouse Tools and PSTC are not only uplifting individuals but also positioning the Philippine workforce as a leader in technical trades on the international stage.

The Powerhouse-PSTC collaboration is a beacon of hope, paving the way for a brighter future for Filipino welders and the communities they support.
