Eight Years of Empowering Filipino Futures

SmarTrade employees during the company’s 8th anniversary celebration at Sheraton Manila Hotel.

SmarTrade’s eighth anniversary became more than a celebration—it unfolded as a powerful reflection of how a simple idea planted years ago has grown into a nationwide movement for financial empowerment. What began in 2017 as a small initiative to make financial literacy more accessible has now flourished into a dynamic learning community that continues to transform the way Filipinos understand, manage, and grow their finances.

Held at the Sheraton Manila Hotel in Newport World Resorts, the anniversary gathering embraced the theme “SmarTrade Cultiv8: Celebrating Eight Years of Growth, Purpose, Partnerships, and Empowerment.” Guests arrived to a warm, nature-inspired setting—earthy tones, moss textures, and organic décor symbolizing the roots SmarTrade has nurtured and the new branches it continues to grow. It was an atmosphere that mirrored the company’s mission: to cultivate knowledge and confidence in every learner it touches.

The evening became a tapestry of shared stories—employees recalling the early days of SmarTrade, learners whose lives had shifted because they dared to take control of their finances, and partners who believed in the advocacy from the very beginning. More than the numbers and milestones, the night highlighted one truth: SmarTrade’s heartbeat lies in the people it empowers.

Long-service awardees were also honored, celebrating years of commitment that helped SmarTrade reach communities across the country. President & CEO Joyce Mayo captured the spirit of the moment in her message: “Eight years ago, we planted a simple seed—a vision to make financial literacy accessible to every Filipino. Today, we see a thriving community built on trust, learning, and purpose. Our mission remains: to uplift lives through education and open doors to opportunity.”

That mission has reached remarkable heights: 1,320 in-person learning sessions, 1,379 webinars, and a total of 46,424 participants across 708 locations. Each session represents a life touched, a mindset shifted, and a new possibility unlocked.

As SmarTrade looks ahead, its commitment stands firm—to nurture informed, empowered Filipinos ready to take charge of their financial futures.
