Dr. George T. Yang Expands His Legacy with the 52nd Bahay Bulilit

The newest Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit is a personal gift to the people of Biñan from McDonald’s Philippines and Founder Dr. George T. Yang (sixth from left), and the entire community has come together for a celebration. Joining Dr. Yang are (from left) City Councilors Elvis L. Bedia, Ingrid L. Almeda, and Titus V. Bautista; Barangay Captain Lloyd Castelltort; Biñan Mayor Angelo Alonte; McDonald’s celebrity endorser Alden Richards; Annie Villasotto, McDonald’s PH Director for General Accounting and Internal Audit and RMHC Board Member; Jenny Hartigan-Go, RMHC Board Member; and Deng de Guzman, McDonald’s Director for Legal and RMHC Corporate Secretary.

For McDonald’s Philippines Founder and Chairman Dr. George T. Yang, building communities has always gone beyond serving meals—it has meant opening doors to opportunity. Through the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philippines (RMHC), he continues to champion early childhood care and development, ensuring young learners in underserved communities have a strong foundation for the future.

This commitment comes to life once again with the inauguration of the 52nd Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Biñan, Laguna. Personally gifted by Dr. Yang to the city’s youngest learners, the new center stands as a symbol of hope and possibility. More than a building, it is a safe haven where 90 to 100 children aged 2 to 4 can learn, play, and grow—guided by trained teachers and supported by volunteers who believe in every child’s potential.

Preschoolers enjoy their time with George Yang and Ronald McDonald during the official launch of the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit in Biñan, Laguna.

Located in Barangay Poblacion, the center was formally turned over to the Biñan City Government on October 24. Dr. Yang led the ceremony alongside McDonald’s Philippines and RMHC teams, joined by Mayor Angelo Alonte, Barangay Captain Lloyd Castelltort, and other local officials. Grateful for the partnership, Dr. Yang emphasized the collective effort behind each center: “It takes a community to raise a child. My hope is that this Bahay Bulilit becomes a safe and happy place where dreams take root.”

The need for quality early learning spaces in the country remains urgent. Experts highlight that the first five years of life are crucial to cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development—yet many communities lack the resources to fully support these needs. Bahay Bulilit centers help fill this gap, offering nurturing environments, complete learning materials, and essential facilities such as reading corners, play areas, and hygiene stations.

With 52 centers nationwide, RMHC now supports over 5,000 children annually, empowering them with the strong start they deserve. Atty. Deng De Guzman, McDonald’s Director for Legal and RMHC Corporate Secretary, credits this impact to Dr. Yang’s enduring dedication. “His belief that every child deserves to learn and dream continues to inspire us to reach more communities,” she shared.

The turnover celebration brought joy to the community, highlighted by a storytelling session with Ronald McDonald and a special meal for daycare students—an early taste of the warmth and care the center promises.

Through Bahay Bulilit, Dr. Yang continues to invest in the country’s most important resource: its children. With each center built, he helps shape brighter beginnings—not just for individual learners, but for the nation’s future.
