In today’s wellness-driven world, sleep has emerged as one of the most important foundations of good health. Yet many people still equate good sleep simply with the number of hours spent in bed. Experts say otherwise. Surprisingly, falling asleep instantly can sometimes indicate sleep deprivation rather than restful balance. As awareness around health and lifestyle grows, more Filipinos are beginning to understand that the quality of sleep depends not only on time but also on the environment where rest happens.
Recognizing this deeper connection between sleep and lifestyle, Uratex, the Philippines’ leading mattress brand, joined forces with furniture retailer OUR HOME to introduce a new advocacy that places better sleep at the center of everyday living. In celebration of World Sleep Day, the two brands launched The 8 Hour Movement: A Wake Up Call for Better Sleep, an initiative that encourages people to rethink how their bedroom environment and nightly routines affect the way they rest and recover.

The campaign officially debuted on March 13, 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, where guests were welcomed into a thoughtfully designed experiential showcase known as the Uratex Country Club. Rather than presenting a traditional product display, the event invited visitors to explore sleep as a lifestyle experience. The venue was transformed into a series of bedroom-inspired spaces, each designed to highlight how furniture, lighting, bedding, and mattress technology can work together to create an atmosphere that supports restful sleep.
Styled with carefully curated furniture pieces from OUR HOME and complemented by Uratex linens and mattresses, each bedroom vignette demonstrated how design choices influence comfort and relaxation. The installations illustrated how calming aesthetics, supportive furniture, and the right mattress can transform the bedroom into a true sanctuary.

Christian Cheng, Uratex Category Manager, emphasized that sleep should not be measured solely by hours. Instead, the entire environment surrounding the bed plays a critical role in determining how restorative those hours truly are. Through the 8 Hour Movement, Uratex hopes to encourage people to adopt better sleep habits while also paying attention to the comfort and support provided by their sleep spaces.
For OUR HOME, the collaboration aligns with its long-standing mission of helping Filipinos create homes that nurture both comfort and well-being. According to Glowie Robillo, Senior Assistant Vice President for Marketing of OUR HOME, the bedroom should be more than just a place to sleep—it should serve as a sanctuary where individuals can relax, recharge, and escape the pressures of everyday life.

At the heart of the exhibition were several mattress innovations from Uratex, each designed to address different sleep preferences. Among the featured products was the Premium Touch Viscoluxe, which uses memory foam technology to contour to the body and relieve pressure points. For sleepers seeking firmer support, the Orthocare Balance was designed to help maintain proper spinal alignment throughout the night.
Other mattresses in the lineup included the Serenibed, known for its medium-firm comfort and Sanitized® protection that helps maintain a cleaner sleep environment, and the Senso Frost, which offers cooling comfort through adaptive memory foam technology. The Premium Touch Cozy Latex combined responsive latex support with breathable materials to promote airflow and reduce heat buildup during sleep.

The showcase also highlighted hybrid designs that merge multiple sleep technologies. The Trill Hybrid integrates memory foam comfort with the responsive support of a pocket spring system, while the Trill Seave introduces a more sustainable approach to mattress production by incorporating materials derived from upcycled ocean plastics.
Beyond product displays, the event also offered valuable insights into sleep health. Hosted by television personality Luane Dy, the launch program featured a discussion with Dr. Jimmy Chang of the Philippine Society of Sleep Medicine. During the session, Dr. Chang shared practical tips on improving sleep hygiene, emphasizing the importance of consistent routines, proper bedroom environments, and supportive mattresses.

Celebrity personalities and lifestyle influencers including Leon Barretto, Janeena Chan, Sofia Pablo, and Sam Concepcion also joined the conversation, sharing how they manage to protect their eight hours of sleep despite demanding schedules in the entertainment industry.
The event concluded with a symbolic pledge encouraging participants to commit to better sleep habits as part of the broader 8 Hour Movement. The gesture reinforced the campaign’s central message: healthier days begin with restorative nights.

For Uratex, the initiative continues a decades-long commitment to improving sleep quality for Filipinos. By combining mattress innovation with thoughtful bedroom design, the partnership with OUR HOME demonstrates how small changes in lifestyle and environment can lead to meaningful improvements in well-being.
