Chooks-to-Go Rewards High School Graduate in Viral Facebook Post

This is a story of love, a high school graduation, and an appreciation post that went viral.

When Guillerma Idias, or Jill to her family and friends, graduated from high school this week, she shared on her social media account a photo of her and her father, backhoe operator Florentino. In her post, she expressed her gratitude to Tatay Florentino who came straight from work and showed up for her special day.

Little did Guillerma realize her post would strike a chord with netizens who witnessed the power of genuine love between a daughter and a father and the great lengths a parent would go to be there for a child.

Little also did Jill realize that her story resonated not just with thousands of people but also with Chooks-to-Go President Ronald Mascariñas who deemed her worthy of support and a bit more extra.

Mr. Mascariñas said “As a father myself, it truly touched my heart when I read the story of Jill and Florentino. In our own little way, we want to help nurture this relationship and provide Jill with the means to secure a bright future for her and her family.”

Last Thursday, June 30, the team of Chooks-to-Go flew to Cebu to visit Jill and her family in Manlapay, Dalaguete.

Jill received from Chooks-to-Go a cash reward so she could celebrate her graduation with her family. The company also pledged to shoulder her tuition when she finally enrolls for her college education. Jill was overwhelmed by the unexpected blessings she received from Mr. Mascariñas and Chooks-to-Go.

She mentioned anew to the Chooks-to-Go team how important her family is to her. “Sa mga kabataan na katulad ko, pahalagahan niyo ang inyong mga magulang kung anuman sila kasi kung anuman meron sila, binibigay nila sa atin. Paramdam natin lagi na mahal natin sila hindi lang sa salita kundi sa gawa.”
