Celebrating Two Decades of Innovation: MIAS 2025

In 2005, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) was launched by WORLDBEX Services International (WSI), marking the beginning of a significant chapter in the Philippine automotive landscape.

Fast forward 20 years, and MIAS has firmly established itself as the premier event for car enthusiasts, providing a platform for showcasing the latest automotive trends and technologies while fostering connections among passionate individuals who thrive on speed and innovation. Over the past two decades, the global automotive industry has witnessed remarkable transformations.

The Philippines has emerged as an important player, contributing to vehicle assembly and manufacturing components for leading global automotive brands. East Asia, particularly Japan, has been at the forefront of automotive innovation, filing approximately 57.75% of all automotive patent applications.

South Korea and Germany follow, highlighting the competitive landscape that drives advancements in vehicle technology. As the demand for AI-assisted self-driving cars surges, the Philippine automotive sector is evolving to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by such innovations.

MIAS 2025 promises to focus on the future, showcasing the latest breakthroughs and technologies that are set to revolutionize the driving experience for Filipinos. The journey of MIAS began with the vision of motoring writers Jason K. Ang, Ulysses K. Ang, and Alvin Uy, who approached Mr. Joseph Ang, the founding chairman of WSI, with the idea of creating an international-grade auto show in the Philippines.

Drawing inspiration from global auto exhibitions, they aimed to deliver a world-class experience for Filipino car buyers and enthusiasts. Mr. Ang, honoring the legacy of his late father, a car dealer deeply involved in the automotive world, embraced this opportunity.

The inaugural Manila Motor Show launched in April 2005, marking a milestone in the local automotive community. Over the years, MIAS has garnered international acclaim and become the premier venue for car brands to unveil their latest models. Support from reputable organizations such as the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), the Tuason Racing School (TRS), and the Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) has further solidified its status.

In 2025, MIAS will host a monumental celebration of its 20th anniversary, featuring renowned brands like Aion, BAIC, BYD, Changan, Chery, Foton, GAC, Great Wall Motors, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jetour, Jaecoo, KIA, Lynk & Co., MG, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Omoda, Seres, Suzuki, VinFast, and Volvo. Attendees can look forward to an impressive showcase with over 200 vehicles across more than 90 exhibitors.

Major sponsors, including BPI Auto Loans, Petron, and Shell, contribute to making this event a remarkable experience.
