Cebu Welcomes a New Hub for Entertainment and Events

A first look at the iconic facade of the newly built SM Seaside Cebu Arena, set to officially open with its trade launch ahead of the BINI Signals World Tour 2026.

Cebu is set to elevate its position as a major destination for entertainment, tourism, and business with the introduction of the SM Seaside Cebu Arena, the newest large-scale venue developed by  SM Prime Holdings within its South Road Properties (SRP) estate.

The project was formally presented to industry stakeholders, corporate partners, and representatives from the events, hospitality, tourism, and entertainment sectors during a trade launch held on July 9. The gathering provided guests with an exclusive preview of the arena’s design, features, and capabilities through a detailed visual presentation that showcased what is expected to become one of the country’s premier event destinations.

According to Jeffrey C. Lim, President of SM Prime, the development forms part of the company’s broader vision of transforming Cebu into a stronger tourism and business hub. He noted that the arena is expected to attract both local and international visitors, while also creating opportunities for businesses and communities surrounding the SRP district.

Strategically located beside SM Seaside City Cebu, the arena is integrated with several key developments, including the upcoming SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, Park Inn by Radisson Cebu, and Radisson Hotel Cebu. Together, these facilities are expected to create a vibrant mixed-use district that combines entertainment, conventions, hospitality, and retail experiences in one location.

Designed by internationally acclaimed architecture firm  Arquitectonica, the P7-billion arena spans more than seven hectares and can accommodate up to 25,000 spectators. Its striking exterior features sweeping wave-inspired glass elements that pay tribute to Cebu’s coastal character while complementing the design language of its sister venue, the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

One of the arena’s standout features is its state-of-the-art center-hung display system, the largest of its kind in Cebu. The advanced technology is designed to provide immersive visuals, enhanced sound quality, and real-time content integration, making the venue suitable for a wide range of events including concerts, sporting competitions, electronic dance music festivals, family shows, corporate gatherings, and large-scale productions.

For guests seeking a premium experience, the arena offers 30 luxury Premier Suites positioned above the VIP sections. These private suites feature upscale seating, dedicated amenities, exclusive lounges, and unobstructed views of the main event floor.

The venue will officially begin its major events calendar with the opening night of the BINI Signals World Tour on July 11. Upcoming performances from IV of Spades, TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan, Hillsong Worship, and LANY are also scheduled, signaling the arena’s role as a new destination for world-class entertainment in the Visayas.

With its scale, modern facilities, and strategic location, SM Seaside Cebu Arena is poised to become a landmark venue that strengthens Cebu’s standing on the regional and international live entertainment map.
