Castrol celebrates its 125th anniversary in Cebu

North Trend Marketing Corporation (NTM), the master distributor of Castrol in the Philippines, held its 2nd National Conference and celebrated the 125th year anniversary of the Castrol brand at Nustar Hotel Resort and Casino in Cebu City.

The event was held to inform NTM distributors about the company’s plans for 2024 and to recognize the top performers for 2023.

The program kicked off with the opening remarks from NTM Chief Finance Officer Emily Jane Ang Quilacio who thanked their partner distributors for their continuous support and trust not only for the Castrol brand but also for NTM.

Despite the many challenges that we faced, you, our loyal partners, chose to stay with us through thick and thin and were more than eager to join us through this business journey,” she said.

NTM Chief Operating Officer Ronald Ang pointed out that moving forward, the company as well as partner distributors will have to consider emerging trends like the transition to sustainable energy, various types of e-commerce platforms, the increasing sales in e-vehicles and the improving infrastructure.

Our distributors must be equipped to be more flexible and adaptive to this changing world. Together, we can achieve our goal to be the Filipino’s choice lubricant,” Ang said.

The same message was echoed by Market Liaison Manager – Castrol Philippines Ronald Allan Cinco who said Castrol was moving to become an integrated energy company. While the Castrol brand might be changing, Cinco said “the soul and goal of Castrol is to look for an opportunity to meet the changing needs of customers.”

With regard to NTM’s marketing and operations plan for 2024, NTM Sales Director Grace Lao Torrejas announced that Castrol will have a new packaging later this year.

Castrol is willing to support all activations because this will jumpstart Castrol’s bid to become the number one selling lubricant brand here in the Philippines,” Torrejas said.

NTM CEO Jeffrey Ang closed the program by congratulating the top distributors for 2023.

We at NTM will intensify our operations this year and we will do our best to make Castrol the top-of-mind brand for lubricants,” he added.

(North Trend Marketing Corporation is the central and main master distributor of the Castrol brand here in the Philippines. The Global mother company of the Castrol Brand is British Petroleum.
