Beyond the Greens: PHILTOA–AIGTP Golf Cup Tees Off for Tourism

The fairways of Villamor Airbase Golf Course are set to welcome a new kind of tourism celebration as the inaugural PHILTOA–AIGTP Golf Cup 2025 swings into action on July 22, 2025. A collaborative effort between the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) and the Association for Inbound Golf Tourism Philippines (AIGTP), this first-ever tournament carries the theme “Beyond the Greens,” highlighting golf’s growing influence in the country’s leisure and tourism scene.

More than just a day on the course, the event is positioned as a milestone for golf tourism in the Philippines. Designed to build camaraderie among stakeholders and promote the country as a premier golf destination in Southeast Asia, the tournament invites participants to experience the sport not just as a game—but as a gateway to sustainable and responsible travel.

With a ₱4,500 registration fee, players are entitled to green fees, caddie services, shared carts, mulligans, giveaways, raffle entries, and a special lunch during the Awarding Ceremony at Newport World Resorts, the event’s co-presentor.

Tourism industry VIPs including PHILTOA President Arjun P. Shroff and AIGTP Ex Officio Chairman Connie Mamaril are expected to grace the event, alongside executives from Newport World Resorts and key sponsors such as Philippine Airlines, Casino Filipino, Eagle Ridge, and Quest Hotel Clark.

As golf continues to carve out its niche in inbound travel, the PHILTOA–AIGTP Golf Cup 2025 is more than a competition—it’s a declaration that the Philippines is ready to compete on the global stage, not just for tourism, but for world-class golfing experiences.
