ArenaPlus Hosts PBA 49th Season Commissioner’s Cup Finals Press Conference

ArenaPlus, the country’s premier 24/7 sports entertainment platform, partnered with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to officially launch the 49th Season Commissioner’s Cup Finals through a press conference on March 10, 2025. The event gathered key figures in Philippine basketball, along with members of the media, to discuss the much-anticipated championship series between TNT Tropang Giga and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

Among those present were PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, PBA Chairman and TNT Governor Ricky Vargas, PBA Vice Chairman and Ginebra Team Manager Alfrancis Chua, and the star players from both competing teams, accompanied by their respective coaches.

TNT head coach Chot Reyes highlighted the long-standing rivalry between TNT and Ginebra, noting, “This will be the third time we are facing each other in the finals.” Despite the fierce competition, both teams’ coaches expressed mutual respect, emphasizing that while they are rivals on the court, they remain friends outside of it.

Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson acknowledged the difficulty of the matchup, stating, “Sana makuha namin, pero mahirap, pero we’re praying na sana sa amin naman ngayon.” He stressed that small details—such as hustle plays and rebounds—could make the difference in determining the champion.

ArenaPlus reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the PBA and its players, ensuring an exciting series for basketball fans. The best-of-seven finals will kick off with Games 1 and 2 at SM MOA Arena on March 14 and 16, followed by Game 3 at PhilSports Arena on March 19, and Game 4 at Ynares Center on March 21. With both teams determined to claim the championship, fans can expect an intense and thrilling showdown.
