In the heart of Manila’s entertainment district, SM Mall of Asia Arena continues to redefine what it means to host world-class live experiences. Since opening its doors in 2012, the arena has reached a remarkable milestone—surpassing 2,400 shows—solidifying its role as one of the country’s premier destinations for sports, concerts, and large-scale productions.
The momentum shows no signs of slowing. In 2025 alone, the venue staged more than 200 events and drew over 1.1 million attendees, marking a 10% increase from the previous year. This steady growth reflects the strong and sustained demand for high-quality entertainment spaces in the Philippines, with both international and local organizers choosing the arena as their preferred stage.
Over the years, the 15,000-seat venue has welcomed some of the biggest names in global entertainment, including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and BTS. Beyond music, it has also hosted major international events such as the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship, along with cultural highlights like activities tied to Miss Universe 2016. Family-friendly productions such as Disney On Ice have also become a staple, drawing audiences across generations.
Behind this success is a commitment to continuous improvement. To keep pace with global standards, the arena has invested in key upgrades, including a US$2.1-million center-hung LED system developed with Daktronics. This advanced display enhances visual clarity and allows for more dynamic productions, whether for concerts or sporting events. Complementing this are earlier improvements in digital screens and entry systems, all designed to elevate both the audience experience and operational efficiency.
These developments are part of a broader vision by SM Prime Holdings to strengthen its integrated developments and support the country’s growing tourism and entertainment sectors. The company is also expanding its reach beyond Metro Manila, with the upcoming SM Seaside Cebu Arena set to open in 2026, bringing large-scale live events closer to audiences in the Visayas.
Beyond its flagship venue, SM Prime continues to activate other event spaces, including the SMDC Festival Grounds and various concert venues nationwide, contributing to a combined capacity of over 110,000. Together, these platforms are shaping a more vibrant live entertainment landscape—one where experiences are bigger, more immersive, and increasingly accessible.
As audiences continue to seek shared moments through music, sports, and culture, the MOA Arena stands as a powerful reminder that great stages don’t just host events—they create lasting memories.
