A New Stage for the Visayas

Come June 2026, the spotlight shifts south as SM Prime Holdings unveils the SM Seaside Cebu Arena—Cebu’s first purpose-built multipurpose indoor arena and the largest of its kind in the province. Rising within South Coast City, SM Prime’s master-planned estate, the arena spans a 1.6-hectare footprint with a total gross floor area of approximately 7.4 hectares, signaling a bold new chapter for live entertainment and sports in the Visayas.

Designed to host more than 25,000 guests, the venue features multi-level seating, professional-grade sports and entertainment systems, corporate suites, VIP lounges, and a diverse mix of food and lifestyle concepts. A SkyBridge seamlessly connects the arena to SMX Convention Center Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu, ensuring efficient crowd flow and a fully integrated event experience.

Even before its official opening, the arena is already drawing strong interest. Discussions are underway with concert promoters, sports federations, family entertainment producers, and corporate organizers—an early indicator of Cebu’s readiness to host global-caliber gatherings. For SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim, the project is more than infrastructure; it is an investment in regional growth. By bringing a venue of this scale to Cebu, SM Prime strengthens the Visayas as a destination for international events, domestic tourism, and long-term economic momentum.

The arena builds on the company’s experience with the SM Mall of Asia Arena, which opened in 2012 with a two-night Born This Way Ball concert by Lady Gaga and has since welcomed global icons such as Taylor Swift and BTS, alongside premier sporting events including the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

With SM Seaside Cebu Arena, world-class performances and tournaments will soon be closer to home for Cebuanos—transforming the island into a dynamic stage where global spectacles meet local pride.
