This remarkable event, a collaboration between the SM Mall of Asia, the Archdiocese of Manila’s Liturgical Commission, the Miraculous Medal Apostolate, the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart, and the Jesuit Music Ministry, showcases breathtaking images and relics that celebrate the profound connection between the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the beloved saint.

On June 16, 1675, Jesus revealed to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque His desire for the First Friday devotion, promising that those who honor His Sacred Heart would experience an outpouring of divine love. Pope Francis, in his encyclical “Dilexit Nos,” emphasizes the importance of this devotion, stating it embodies the essence of Christian life, reflecting our openness to the mysteries of divine and human love.

St. Thérèse, canonized on May 17, 1925, held a special reverence for the Sacred Heart, seeing it as a personal connection between her heart and that of Christ. She expressed her intimate relationship with Him in her letters, sharing, “I think that the Heart of my Spouse is mine alone, just as mine is His alone.” This deep devotion allowed her to experience a unique dialogue with Christ, one that she cherished as a heart-to-heart exchange.
