For millions of overseas Filipinos, home is more than a place. It is a collection of memories, traditions, flavors, music, and relationships carried across borders and kept alive wherever Filipinos gather.
On June 7, that sense of home will once again come alive as thousands of Filipinos from across the United Arab Emirates converge at the Dubai World Trade Centre for Kalayaan 2026, the region’s largest celebration of Philippine Independence.
What began as a community gathering has grown into one of the most anticipated Filipino events in the Middle East, bringing together culture, entertainment, entrepreneurship, and national pride under one roof.
This year’s celebration promises to be even more memorable with the addition of some of the Philippines’ most popular performers. Actress and singer Arci Muñoz, along with rising P-Pop sensations G22 and 1st.One, will headline a full day of entertainment that celebrates Filipino talent on a global stage.

Organized by Emirates Loves Philippines, Infinite Communities, and The Filipino Channel (TFC), Kalayaan 2026 embraces the theme “Feel the Freedom. Share the Peace,” reflecting the values of unity, resilience, and cultural pride that continue to define the Filipino community abroad.
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Dubai World Trade Centre Halls 1 and 2 will transform into a lively cultural hub where visitors can experience a rich mix of performances, exhibitions, competitions, and interactive activities. Admission remains free, ensuring that every Filipino family has the opportunity to take part in the festivities.
Music will serve as the heartbeat of the celebration, with Arci Muñoz bringing her vibrant stage presence and P-Pop groups G22 and 1st.One delivering energetic performances that showcase the growing global appeal of Filipino music. Alongside these headline acts, community performers from different emirates will take center stage, highlighting the creativity and diversity of Filipinos living throughout the UAE.
Beyond the entertainment, Kalayaan 2026 offers something for every generation. The popular Kalayaan Food Village returns with a wide selection of Filipino favorites, regional delicacies, and international dishes that reflect the multicultural environment of the UAE.
Visitors can also explore a variety of attractions, including robotics and innovation exhibits, esports competitions, mathematics challenges, cosplay showcases, fashion presentations, art displays, and the bustling Pinoy Street Bazaar. Traditional Filipino games and carnival-inspired activities will add a nostalgic touch, allowing younger generations to experience cultural traditions passed down through the years.
For many attendees, however, the event represents something deeper than food, music, or entertainment. It is a reminder of the bonds that connect Filipinos despite the distance from home.
According to organizers, the active participation of Filipino organizations and community groups remains one of the defining features of Kalayaan. Their involvement transforms the event from a festival into a collective celebration of identity, heritage, and shared experiences.
Supported by the Philippine Embassy, the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, the Migrant Workers Office, Dubai Police, and several government and community partners, Kalayaan 2026 continues to strengthen the ties that unite Filipinos across the region.
As thousands gather in Dubai, the celebration will serve as a powerful reminder that no matter where Filipinos may be in the world, the spirit of community, culture, and nationhood remains alive—creating a place that feels like home, even far from Philippine shores.
