Vena Energy has strengthened its role as a community partner in Samar after receiving the “Outstanding Stakeholder” recognition from the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Calbayog City for its contributions to education and community development.

The award was presented during DepEd Calbayog City’s annual Stakeholders Summit at the Calbayog City Convention Center, where education officials, local government representatives, and private sector partners gathered to celebrate organizations helping improve educational opportunities and services in the city.

Vena Energy was cited for its “invaluable support, meaningful partnership, and significant contributions to advancing education and strengthening stakeholder engagement in Calbayog City.”

Through its subsidiary, Gemini Wind Energy Corp. (GWEC), the renewable energy company has maintained its engagement with the local education sector as part of its broader commitment to the communities where it operates.

Dr. Margarito A. Cadayona Jr., Ph.D., Schools Division Superintendent, earlier acknowledged the contributions of Vena Energy and GWEC and their role in supporting the education community.

Representing the company during the ceremony were Vena Energy CSR Manager Marivic Acuyong and GWEC Project Manager Falconeri Miranda, who accepted the recognition on behalf of their respective teams.

For Vena Energy, the award highlights how renewable energy development can be accompanied by programs that create lasting benefits for host communities.

“Receiving this recognition is meaningful to the entire Vena Energy team,” said Samrinder Nehria, Head of the Philippines at Vena Energy. “Our commitment to the communities where we operate goes beyond providing clean energy. We believe that supporting education helps create opportunities for young people and contributes to stronger communities.”

Nehria added that the recognition further encourages the company to continue building partnerships that benefit students, teachers, and schools.

The award also demonstrates the importance of cooperation among government institutions, schools, communities, and private organizations in addressing educational needs. DepEd Calbayog City emphasized that strong stakeholder partnerships help support the successful implementation of educational programs across the division.

Vena Energy’s involvement forms part of its wider approach to creating positive environmental, social, and economic impact alongside renewable energy development.

Across the Asia-Pacific region, Vena Energy develops green energy solutions covering onshore wind, solar, and offshore wind projects. The company also has green energy infrastructure initiatives involving battery energy storage systems and green hydrogen and ammonia.

Beyond expanding renewable energy, the recognition in Calbayog highlights another aspect of the company’s presence in local communities—investing in partnerships that can help create opportunities for the next generation.
