Bounty at 40: Building a Stronger Future for Philippine Food Security

As Bounty celebrates its 40th year in the Philippine food industry, the company is looking beyond milestones and focusing on a bigger mission: helping secure the nation’s food future. Marking four decades of growth and innovation, Bounty reaffirmed its commitment to supporting food security and strengthening local agricultural production during its anniversary celebration held on June 25 at Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The event gathered company leaders, industry stakeholders, media partners, and agricultural experts to reflect on Bounty’s journey from a modest poultry operation to one of the country’s leading integrated food companies. More importantly, it served as a platform to discuss the challenges facing Philippine agriculture and the role private enterprises can play in ensuring a stable food supply for future generations.

For Bounty Fresh Group Holdings, food security is no longer just an industry concern—it is a national responsibility. According to Atty. Kenneth Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Bounty Fresh Group Holdings and President of Fresh Group, the trust Filipino families have placed in the company over the years inspires Bounty to contribute more actively to strengthening the country’s agricultural sector.

As global and local challenges continue to affect food production, the company believes that improving domestic agricultural capacity is key to achieving greater self-sufficiency. Bounty’s strategy centers on supporting Filipino farmers and livestock raisers through access to modern technologies, technical expertise, nutrition programs, and reliable market opportunities.

This collaborative approach has become a cornerstone of the company’s efforts to improve productivity while helping rural communities thrive. By working closely with agricultural partners nationwide, Bounty not only contributes to food availability but also supports job creation and economic growth in farming communities.

Rodolfo Abelardo “Polo” Ablazo General Manager, Commercial Feeds Agribusiness Group

Rodolfo Abelardo “Polo” Ablazo, General Manager of the Commercial Feeds–Agribusiness Group, emphasized that empowering farmers and entrepreneurs remains central to the company’s vision. Through advanced feeding solutions, technical guidance, and innovations that improve animal health and efficiency, Bounty seeks to help agricultural enterprises become more competitive and sustainable.

The company’s journey began in 1986 in Santa Maria, Bulacan, with a small layer farm housing around 5,000 chickens. Over the years, Bounty steadily expanded its operations, investing in every critical stage of poultry production—from breeding farms and hatcheries to feed mills, processing facilities, and modern broiler complexes. This vertically integrated model enabled the company to maintain quality standards while ensuring a consistent supply of poultry products for Filipino consumers.

A significant transformation came in 2023 when Bounty consolidated its various business units under the “One Bounty” structure. The reorganization brought together four major divisions: the Bounty Fresh Group, Agribusiness Group, Branded & Value-Added Group, and Restaurant Group. The integration was designed to strengthen collaboration, align business objectives, and create a more unified strategy for growth.

Today, Bounty’s footprint extends across the country through its wide range of products and brands. Among its most recognizable ventures is Chooks-to-Go, which now operates more than 2,200 stores nationwide, making it one of the largest roasted chicken chains in the Philippines.

Company leaders also highlighted Bounty’s continued focus on innovation and product development. By offering convenient, nutritious, and high-quality food options, the company aims to remain relevant to changing consumer needs while staying true to its long-standing promise of delivering “food made better.”

As Bounty enters its fifth decade, the company envisions a future where stronger partnerships, agricultural innovation, and sustainable growth work together to support a more resilient food system. With its integrated approach—from animal nutrition and farming support to food production and retail—Bounty continues to position itself as a key contributor to the country’s pursuit of long-term food security and agricultural development.
