Fairways of Legacy

Annual tournament honors Ronald and Rowrence Lim Sy through a day of golf, fellowship, and support for SOS Children’s Village Lipa

The spirit of remembrance and community returns to the greens as the 2nd Ronald and Rowrence Lim Sy Memorial Golf Tournament tees off on May 29, 2026 at Forest Hills Golf and Country Club.

What started as a heartfelt tribute to brothers Ronald and Rowrence Lim Sy has steadily evolved into a meaningful annual gathering that celebrates friendship, generosity, and the lasting impact both brothers left on the people around them. Following the successful inaugural tournament held in 2025, this year’s edition is expected to welcome an even bigger crowd from the golfing community, along with family members, friends, and supporters coming together for a shared cause.

The memorial tournament was first organized after the unexpected passing of Ronald and Rowrence in 2024. Those close to the brothers describe them as individuals who naturally brought people together through their warmth, leadership, and strong sense of camaraderie. The event has since become more than a sporting occasion — it has become a celebration of the relationships and memories they built throughout their lives.

This year’s tournament reflects how deeply the event has resonated within the community. Organizers expect participation to triple compared to the first staging, highlighting the growing support for a gathering rooted not only in competition, but also in remembrance and unity.

Beyond the fairways, the event also serves a greater purpose through its beneficiary, SOS Children’s Village Lipa. Guests and participants will have the opportunity to support the organization through handcrafted products created by children under its care, adding a charitable dimension to the day’s activities. The partnership reinforces the tournament’s mission of honoring legacy through compassion and community involvement.

While players compete across the course, the event also creates opportunities for reconnecting with old friends, strengthening relationships, and sharing stories that continue to keep Ronald and Rowrence’s memory alive. Organizers hope participants leave with more than trophies or raffle prizes, but with a renewed appreciation for friendship, kindness, and meaningful connections.

Tournament fee is set at P5,000 for non-members and P4,000 for members, inclusive of green fee, cart sharing, lunch, and raffle. Non-playing guests may also join for P3,000, inclusive of lunch and raffle participation.
