As Filipino households continue to embrace technology in everyday life, home security is evolving beyond traditional locks and keys into a more connected, intelligent experience. Bringing this vision closer to local consumers, Yale, under ASSA ABLOY Philippines, officially introduced its latest smart home innovations during the Smart Yale Home Launch held at True Value in Shangri-La Plaza last May 1.

Centered on the theme “Unlock Real Life Security. Upgrade to a Smart Yale Home,” the event highlighted how modern security solutions are becoming an essential part of contemporary Filipino living. More than simply protecting homes, Yale aims to create spaces that offer convenience, seamless access, and peace of mind through integrated technology.

Leading the launch was ASSA ABLOY Philippines Director and General Manager Mr. Jonathan Kwong, who reflected on Yale’s long-standing legacy in security innovation. From its beginnings in Connecticut in the 1800s to becoming a globally recognized brand present in more than 120 countries, Yale continues to adapt to the changing needs of homeowners worldwide.

Kwong emphasized that today’s consumers are no longer looking solely for physical protection. Modern families now value systems that provide flexibility, remote control, and user-friendly features that fit into fast-paced lifestyles. According to him, smart security has become part of a larger movement toward connected living.

The event also underscored the growing partnership between Yale and True Value Philippines. Assistant Vice President Cynthia Chavez shared how Filipino homeowners are increasingly investing in practical home upgrades that combine function, technology, and design. With Yale products now available in True Value branches nationwide, the collaboration aims to make smart security solutions more accessible across the country.
One of the biggest attractions during the launch was the Smart Yale Home Pop-Up Booth, an immersive installation designed like a real smart home environment. Instead of a traditional product display, guests were invited to walk through interactive home simulation spaces featuring Yale’s newest innovations in action.
Among the featured products was the Yale Luna Elite+, the brand’s premium smart lock equipped with advanced biometric technologies such as FaceScan and PalmScan. Using 3D structured light technology, the lock allows touchless access through facial recognition and palm vein authentication, offering homeowners a highly secure yet effortless way to enter their homes.
The Luna Elite+ also supports fingerprint access, RFID cards, PIN codes, traditional keys, and mobile app integration through the Yale Home App. Additional features such as real-time visitor monitoring, motion alerts, and two-way communication further elevate the user experience by allowing homeowners to stay connected and informed wherever they are.
Lifestyle personality and actress Isabel Oli-Prats joined the walkthrough alongside her family, demonstrating how Yale’s smart devices can fit naturally into family routines. She highlighted the convenience of contactless access, especially for households with children.
Another featured product was the Yale Uno, a simpler but equally practical smart lock that integrates fingerprint access directly into the handle. Designed for smooth everyday use, it also supports RFID cards, PIN access, and traditional keys while offering functions such as Panic Mode and Passage Mode for added convenience during gatherings or emergencies.
For interior rooms and private spaces, Yale introduced the YDL325 Series, designed for bedrooms, home offices, and storage areas. With easy plug-in installation and app-controlled access, the device offers additional layers of protection without requiring complicated modifications to existing doors.
Completing the lineup was the Yale Solis Safe Series, which combines durable steel construction with modern authentication systems such as fingerprint recognition and PIN code access. The safes are designed to secure valuables, documents, and heirlooms while providing reliable protection against both physical and environmental damage.
During the event, Product Marketing Manager Aya Castillo also shared insights into the growing demand for smart home technology in the Philippines. Industry projections estimate that the local smart home market could reach around USD 350 million by 2030, with more Filipino households expected to adopt smart devices over the next few years.
Tech personality PJ Icogo further discussed how connected ecosystems such as the Yale Home App are reshaping modern lifestyles by allowing homeowners to remotely manage access, monitor activity, and customize security settings in real time.
Closing the program, Herco Trading Inc. President and CEO Mr. Willy Co emphasized the importance of partnerships in making advanced security technology more available to Filipino consumers.
The Smart Yale Home Pop-Up Booth remains open to the public until May 31 at True Value, Shangri-La Plaza, giving visitors the chance to personally explore Yale’s newest innovations and experience how smart security is redefining the modern Filipino home.
