Alex Calleja to bring signature brand of comedy to Japan

Filipino stand-up comedy is set to take center stage overseas as Alex Calleja prepares to perform live in Japan this June. Known for his relatable humor and sharp comedic storytelling, Calleja will headline “Tawanan sa Japan: Live Stand-up Comedy Show” at the Yokosuka Arts Theatre in Yokosuka on June 13, 2026. The highly anticipated event promises an evening filled with laughter for Filipino communities and comedy fans abroad.

Joining the show as front acts are Israel Buenaobra, Yuri Horikoshi, Dawit Tabonares, and Grease Junio, who will warm up the audience before Calleja delivers his much-awaited set. The event highlights the growing global appeal of Filipino comedy and the increasing demand for live entertainment featuring Pinoy performers overseas.

Calleja continues to enjoy strong momentum in his career following the success of his Netflix comedy special, Past is Past, which quickly climbed to the top spot in the Philippines shortly after its release in March 2026. His upcoming Japan performance further reflects how Filipino comedians are reaching wider international audiences through both digital platforms and live events.

Tickets for the Yokosuka show are available in several categories, including Meet and Greet, VIP, general admission, and second-floor seating, giving fans multiple ways to experience the comedy night live.
