Kaagapay sa Kalinga: Bell-Kenz Brings Healthcare Within Reach Through Lab for All

Accessible healthcare continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many Filipino families, especially in communities where medical services and medicines remain difficult to afford. Through the LAB for All medical missions held on March 17 in Marikina City and March 24 in Santa Rosa, Laguna, thousands of residents were able to receive free medical consultations, laboratory services, prenatal care, and healthcare assistance in a more convenient and compassionate environment.

Hosted at the Marikina Sports Center and the Santa Rosa Multipurpose Sports Complex, the outreach programs transformed public spaces into temporary healthcare hubs where doctors, healthcare workers, volunteers, local government units, and private organizations worked together to serve the community.

Among the private sector partners that supported the initiative was Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc., which provided free medicines to beneficiaries during the medical missions. The company’s participation helped address one of the biggest concerns faced by many patients — the cost of medicines after medical consultations.

For many low-income families, receiving a prescription is only the first step, as purchasing medicines often becomes another financial burden. Through the support of Bell-Kenz Pharma, patients were able to receive immediate medication assistance, helping them begin treatment without additional expenses.

One of the beneficiaries, 40-year-old expectant mother Evelyn Ballaran, shared how the program gave her peace of mind during her pregnancy.

“Malapit na po akong manganak kaya mas kinakabahan ako,” she shared. “Hindi laging madali magpa-check-up kapag may ibang gastusin sa bahay.”

As she prepares to give birth to her fourth child, the free medicines she received during the outreach helped ease some of her worries.

“Mas nakakagaan po sa loob. Hindi na ako mag-aalala kung saan kukuha ng gamot,” she added.

Her story reflected the experiences of many residents who attended the medical missions in both Marikina and Santa Rosa, where access to healthcare and medicines can sometimes be limited by financial constraints.

According to Dr. Luis Raymond T. Go, Medical Director of Bell-Kenz Pharma, the company continues to support initiatives that promote accessible healthcare for Filipinos.

“At Bell-Kenz Pharma, we believe healthcare should not be a privilege reserved for a few,” Dr. Go explained. “Programs like LAB for All allow us to help communities not only through medical consultations but also by ensuring patients receive the medicines they need immediately.”

He also emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration between healthcare organizations, local governments, and private companies to help improve healthcare accessibility nationwide.

The success of the medical missions also highlighted the value of coordinated public service efforts. In Marikina, members of the Philippine National Police led by Police Colonel Jenny Tecson assisted in maintaining order and helping elderly residents, pregnant women, and children navigate the crowded venue.

Local officials, healthcare workers, volunteers, and partner organizations likewise played vital roles in ensuring that services reached as many residents as possible.

Beyond the medical services provided, the LAB for All missions left a lasting impact on the communities they served. Families received immediate healthcare support, expectant mothers gained reassurance, and residents experienced firsthand how compassion and collaboration can help bring healthcare closer to those who need it most.

Through initiatives like these, Bell-Kenz Pharma continues to strengthen its commitment to community-centered healthcare, supporting programs that make medical care and medicines more accessible for Filipino families.
