As it marked its 51st founding anniversary on March 27, 2026, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) reaffirmed its enduring role in shaping the country’s built environment and nurturing generations of Filipino architects. More than a milestone, the celebration stood as a reflection of the organization’s continued commitment to professional excellence, innovation, and service to communities both in the Philippines and abroad. For over five decades, UAP has remained a driving force behind architectural advancement—guiding practitioners in responding to evolving design challenges while contributing meaningfully to nation-building.

Anchoring this year’s celebration was the Negros Building and Construction Exposition (NBEX 2026), hosted by the UAP Negrense Chapter at Ayala Malls Capitol. The exposition gathered a dynamic mix of industry players, from construction suppliers to design innovators, all presenting the latest technologies, materials, and services shaping the future of the built environment. Under the leadership of Chapter President Ar. Julius Rasmo, alongside District C2 Director Ar. Ryan Gela, Area C Vice President Ar. Gil Juesna Jr., FUAP, and National Auditor Ar. Ramon Teruel, the event became a collaborative platform where ideas met application—bridging architecture with real-world solutions.

The occasion was further elevated by the presence of Bacolod City Vice Mayor Kalaw Puentevella, as well as representatives from key Visayas chapters. Notably, UAP Bacolod Chapter, UAP Cebu Chapter, and UAP Iloilo Chapter were recognized as they celebrated their 50th golden founding anniversaries—marking decades of influence in their respective regions. Their leaders, Ar. Jorge Varela, Ar. Nica Zhanne Amarga, and Past President Ar. Ludovico Feguro Fenequito Jr., were honored for their contributions and leadership within the organization.

As UAP moves beyond its 51st year, NBEX 2026 stands as a symbol of continuity and vision. It highlights not only the organization’s legacy but also its forward-looking mission—to shape resilient, innovative spaces that reflect the aspirations of a growing nation.
