Leading by Disclosure

When companies talk about climate action, the real test is not the promise—but the proof. For Globe Telecom, that proof now comes with global recognition. In 2025, Globe earned an A- rating for Climate from CDP, placing the company among climate leaders worldwide and marking its first entry into the organization’s leadership tier. The telco also received a B score for Water Security in its inaugural assessment, underscoring a broader approach to environmental responsibility.

CDP, a global nonprofit that operates the world’s most extensive environmental disclosure system, evaluates how organizations respond to climate change, water security, and deforestation. Its ratings are closely watched by investors, governments, and financial institutions, as they measure not just ambition but how deeply sustainability is embedded in strategy, risk management, and performance.

Globe’s A- Climate score reflects years of structured groundwork. As early as 2021, the company conducted climate scenario analyses to identify risks—from extreme weather to shifts in regulation—that could impact its network and operations. These insights helped shape Globe’s science-based targets and its roadmap toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050. A comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory covering Scopes 1, 2, and 3 continues to guide decision-making and accountability.

“This recognition reflects disciplined action and a strong commitment to transparency,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer. “It shows that our climate strategy is measurable, credible, and aligned with global standards.”

On the ground, Globe’s climate initiatives translate into tangible change. The company has shifted 171 cell sites, offices, and facilities to renewable energy through power purchase agreements, while deploying more than 38,000 green network solutions—from fuel cells and hybrid generators to free cooling systems and lithium-ion batteries. These efforts cut emissions while strengthening network reliability.

Sustainability also shapes Globe’s customer-facing innovations. Paperless billing, recycled-material EcoSIM cards, and growing eSIM adoption have significantly reduced plastic use, with over 1,200 kilograms of virgin plastic avoided in 2024 alone.

Water stewardship completes the picture. At The Globe Tower, rainwater harvesting and recycling systems supply graywater for non-potable use. In 2024, more than 33,500 cubic meters of water were reused, easing demand on freshwater sources.

Together with Globe’s earlier recognition as a Supplier Engagement Leader, the CDP scores reflect a long-term commitment to responsible growth—where connectivity advances hand in hand with climate action and resource care.
