Colors in Motion: Sinclair Paint’s National Art Competition Unites Canvas and Wall Creatives

From the quiet corners of provincial towns to the bustling streets of the city, Filipino artists are being called to bring their visions to life as Sinclair The New Generation Paint launches its National Art Competition—a countrywide celebration of creativity running from August 1 to October 30, 2025. This landmark initiative invites entries in two bold categories, each designed to showcase the artistry and versatility of Sinclair’s signature finishes.

The Canvas Obra category focuses on representational works—portraits, landscapes, and still life—rendered on a 30”x36” landscape box-type canvas. Each piece must integrate Sinclair Makaw Decorative Lime Plaster and Makaw Effect Paints, bringing depth, texture, and a distinctive finish that elevates traditional painting. Meanwhile, the Wall Obra category pushes creativity beyond the frame, challenging artists to transform walls or panels into immersive, large-scale visual experiences. Here, Sinclair’s decorative textures are not just embellishments—they are integral to the design, ensuring each mural resonates with both artistic flair and architectural sophistication.

This dual-category format bridges the gallery and the built environment, proving that fine art and functional design can thrive side by side. For Sinclair, it’s a powerful statement: walls and canvases alike can become lasting expressions of identity and culture when treated as art in themselves.

All entries will be judged on creativity, technical skill, and the innovative use of Sinclair’s products. The winners will be revealed on November 14, 2025, during a grand awarding ceremony at the UAS Art Gallery in San Miguel, Manila, in partnership with the Unified Artist Society and in the presence of a DTI representative. Beyond trophies and recognition, the event promises to spotlight the boundless potential of Filipino talent, giving both established and emerging artists a national platform.

For Sinclair, this competition is more than a corporate initiative—it’s an extension of its brand ethos. Known worldwide for merging advanced paint technology with high-end decorative finishes, Sinclair has long believed in empowering artists to think beyond color swatches and into textures, patterns, and surfaces that endure over time. Its advocacy for Filipino creativity is rooted in the belief that art, when supported with quality materials, becomes a driver of culture, livelihood, and even national pride.

By working closely with artists and muralists, Sinclair aims to help elevate Philippine interior and architectural design to global prominence. It sees this competition not only as a showcase of talent but as a movement—one that positions the Philippines as a leader in decorative plaster, stucco, and artistic paints on the world stage.

Registration is now open via Sinclair’s official Facebook page and website, with complete mechanics available online. For artists ready to blend imagination with innovation, this is an invitation to make every brushstroke count—not just as a personal expression, but as part of a larger story of Filipino artistry that will leave a mark for years to come.
