Boom Beyond Beats: LG and will.i.am Set Manila Ablaze with K-Pop Power

Manila’s nightlife reached a fever pitch as LG Electronics and global music icon will.i.am brought sound innovation to the spotlight with the launch of the LG xboom by will.i.am at Xylo at the Palace. More than a product unveiling, it was a sonic spectacle—complete with electrifying performances, immersive sound demos, and a high-energy K-pop dance battle that had the crowd moving all night.

From the moment guests stepped inside, the venue throbbed with bass and neon lights. The stage came alive with performances from Zephanie and rising pop sensation NEW:ID, instantly proving that the LG xboom lineup was built for music lovers who live for both style and sound. Interactive product stations let attendees test-drive the speakers, revealing designs as sleek as their audio was powerful.

Sound Meets Style

“Tonight, the bass doesn’t just play—it pops,” declared Mr. Yongwoo Park, LG Philippines’ Product Director for Media Solutions, as he kicked off the evening. Ms. Mildred Bugay, Product Manager for Audio, shared how the 2025 xboom lineup, tuned by will.i.am himself, blends cutting-edge audio engineering with pop culture flair.

Four new models took the spotlight: the Stage 301, with room-filling sound and karaoke-ready mic controls; the compact yet powerful Bounce; the portable Grab, perfect for music on the go; and the sleek Buds with high-fidelity drivers and advanced noise cancellation. Thanks to Auracast tech, multiple speakers could link together, turning the party into a surround-sound experience.

A Dance Battle Like No Other

In partnership with the Philippine KPOP Convention Inc., the night’s main event—the K-pop Dance Battle—featured five standout crews. DazZ Official amped up the crowd with explosive charisma; Excrementum impressed with a bold genderless dance concept; Kairos brought fierce all-girl precision; Principtium showcased sharp, self-produced routines; and Psycho tore up the stage with unbridled energy.

After intense performances judged by Bugay, AG Constantino, and Wilson of NEW:ID, Principtium emerged champion, with Kairos and Psycho taking second and third place. All participants, however, walked away with LG xboom Bounce speakers as a nod to their talent.

Crowd on Fire

Audience members didn’t just watch—they joined in. With a choreographer’s lead, fans grooved to KATSEYE’s “Gnarly,” with winners chosen by the loudest cheers. Prizes included LG xboom products, keeping the party energy high.

NEW:ID then lit up the night with hits like “Ghost” and “Deja Vu,” crediting the LG xboom’s powerful bass for fueling their stage presence. Zephanie followed with powerhouse renditions of “Problem” and “Bang Bang,” her vocals elevated by the speaker’s rich, balanced sound.

Closing the night, DJ Dara spun an irresistible K-pop and dance mix, while appearances from Sandra Jung, Kristy Cho, Mika Reyes, and Bianca Yao added to the star power.

With the LG xboom by will.i.am, LG proved that great sound isn’t just heard—it’s felt. Smart, stylish, and built for connection, these speakers redefine what it means to live loud. In Manila that night, life was more than good—it was booming.
