Since its inception in 2003, Happy Walk has become a symbol of joy, awareness, and inclusivity for those with Down syndrome and their families. Supported by SM Cares and the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, this annual event has grown from a modest gathering to a nationwide program, leaving a positive impact in its wake.
Spanning across SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, and SM Mall of Asia, Happy Walk has found a home in various locations over the years. Initially starting in parking lots, it evolved to larger event areas like Megatrade Hall and SM North EDSA Sky Dome, before settling in SMX Manila at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in 2016.
This journey exemplifies the strength of community and the collective drive for a more inclusive society. Through a longstanding partnership with the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines (DSAPI), SM Cares continues to demonstrate unwavering support for the Down syndrome community.
The annual Happy Walk, held on March 24th, serves as a tangible expression of this commitment, fostering awareness and empowerment. For over two decades, SM Cares has stood by the Down syndrome community, both through the Happy Walk and as a consistent partner of DSAPI since 2007.
