Event organizers and exhibitors at SMX Convention Center and the Mall of Asia Complex can expect a more coordinated approach to moving equipment and processing logistics requirements following a new partnership involving 2GO, SMX Convention Center, Central Business Park (CBP), and SM Estates.
The four organizations have formalized the 2GO-SMX Events Logistics initiative through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), creating a centralized system intended to simplify permit facilitation and logistics coordination for events.
Under the arrangement, 2GO will serve as a central point of coordination for contractors requiring logistics and permit assistance. The company will facilitate permit applications, coordinate endorsements with SM Estates, process submissions with CBP, and provide logistics support covering ingress, actual event operations, and the pull-out of materials from SMX.
The system is expected to benefit exhibitors, organizers, suppliers, and service providers handling exhibit materials, equipment, displays, and other event-related deliveries.

“Streamlining our work with SMX, CBP, and SM Estates is a reflection of our commitment to innovation across the logistics ecosystem,” said 2GO Forwarding Business Unit Head Faye Alonzo. She added that consolidating permit processing into an integrated solution could help exhibitors and organizers move cargo more efficiently and confidently.
For SMX Convention Center, the partnership strengthens the operational systems supporting events held at the venue.
“By aligning our expertise and resources, we are creating a more seamless and efficient framework for our venue logistics,” said Walid Wafik, Senior Vice President for Operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation, which manages SMX Convention Center.
SM Estates Senior Vice President for Development and Management Jessel Kabigting said closer coordination among the partners is expected to make permit review and endorsement faster and simpler.
Central Business Park President Erickberth Calupe, meanwhile, emphasized that CBP remains the sole authority responsible for regulating permits, applications, vehicle access, and applicable fees. He said cooperation among the organizations would allow services to be delivered in a more holistic and effective manner.
By bringing several stages of event logistics coordination into a one-stop service model, the initiative aims to reduce administrative work, prevent unnecessary delays, and help ensure compliance with operational and estate requirements.
The MOU was signed by Alonzo, Wafik, Kabigting, and Calupe, marking another step toward improving the infrastructure behind major events at SMX and the surrounding Mall of Asia Complex.
For 2GO, the partnership also expands the role of integrated logistics beyond traditional cargo movement, demonstrating how coordinated transportation, documentation, and on-site support can contribute to smoother event operations.
