Coastal communities across the Philippines received added support as 2GO Group, Inc. brought together employee-volunteers, supplies, and logistics capabilities for the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC).
Working in partnership with SM Cares, 2GO mobilized 149 employee-volunteers who joined cleanup activities in Manila, Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga, and Cagayan de Oro. The nationwide effort forms part of the annual global movement encouraging communities and organizations to take action against marine and coastal pollution.
In Manila alone, 2GO volunteers collected 207 kilograms of waste from coastal areas. Across all participating locations, the company estimates that its volunteers helped divert approximately 768 kilograms of waste from shorelines.
Beyond deploying volunteers, 2GO also used its transportation and logistics network to strengthen cleanup operations. The company donated protective gloves for participants and provided end-to-end logistics support for the delivery of heavy-duty weighing scales to cleanup locations around the country.
The weighing equipment allowed organizers to properly measure and document collected waste, providing useful information on the volume of materials removed from participating coastal areas.
2GO’s involvement in the International Coastal Cleanup has continued to expand since it began partnering with SM Cares for the initiative in 2023. In 2024 and 2025, the company contributed cleanup sacks, while logistics support for the transportation of weighing equipment was introduced in 2025.
For 2GO, participation in the environmental initiative reflects the company’s connection to coastal communities throughout the Philippine archipelago. As a transportation and logistics provider linking islands, cities, and communities, the company recognizes the importance of helping protect the waterways and coastlines that form an essential part of the country.
Through the combined efforts of its employees, operational network, and material resources, 2GO continues to support collective environmental action while encouraging greater responsibility for cleaner coastlines and healthier communities nationwide.
