The Taiwan Pavilion at the Philippines Travel Expo to feature incredible activities!


The Taiwan Tourism Administration, M.O.T.C. invites Filipino actress Gabbi Garcia and her boyfriend Khalil Ramos as a couple to serve as tourism ambassadors for Taiwan.

They will attend the opening event of the Taiwan Pavilion at the Philippines Travel Tour Expo (TTE) international travel exhibition, sharing their experiences of traveling to Taiwan and the charm of Taiwanese cuisine. During the exhibition from February 2nd  to 4th , the Taiwan Pavilion has arranged various exciting activities.

Other performances include Celebrity chef RV Manabat, who has millions of fans online, and Fun To Art, winner of 2022 Xiongzheng International Street Dance Competition. There will also be a DIY Pineapple Cake workshop by Vigor KoBo, Hakka floral lantern crafting, traditional Taiwanese egg pancake tasting, and Ohbear nail art painting event.


Visitors can enjoy various activities at the Taiwan Pavilion, with a chance to win NT$5,000 accommodation vouchers by checking in, and exclusive gifts for on-site orders and survey participation.

Come and enjoy delicious food, fun experiences, and great deals at the Taiwan Pavilion in TTE Travel Tour Expo (Booth Number: 347-351, 364-373, 386-390).  In 2023, there were 6 million tourist arrivals in Taiwan, and from January to November 2023, the number of tourists from the Philippines to Taiwan reached 309,376, a 68% recovery compared to the same period in 2019.

This indicates that Filipino travelers’ enthusiasm for Taiwan still remains high. The Taiwan Tourism Administration has organized a delegation of 42 people from 23 governmental agencies and related businesses, including tourism associations, recreational farms, theme parks, hotels, travel agencies, and souvenirs industry, to participate in the TTE Travel Expo held from February 2 to February 4 at the SMX Convention Center Manila in the Philippines.


The exhibition theme revolves around the globally popular bubble tea, with the incorporation of attractions such as the Sun Moon Lake cycling route, Chimei Museum in Tainan, Kaohsiung Music Center, and the Dome of Light at Formosa Boulevard Station.

Taking into account new direct flights to Kaohsiung, the goal is to promote new attractions in the central and southern regions to Filipino tourists, introducing them to the diverse landscape of Taiwan’s tourism resources outside the most visited regions of Taipei.

The Taiwan Pavilion also will also be inviting its first Filipino celebrity couple as Taiwan tourism ambassadors for the first time. Actress Gabbi Garcia and her model boyfriend Khalil Ramos, will cut the ribbon and perform the classic Taiwanese drama “Meteor Garden” theme song on the first day of the travel expo.

They will be sharing the joy and memories of their visit while shooting promotional videos in Taiwan, hoping to encourage more Filipino travelers to visit Taiwan with their friends and loved ones to create their own “Love Story” (AngIyong Love Story).

Throughout the exhibition, renowned Chef RV Manabat, with a million followers on social media, will share irresistible Taiwanese cuisine and the rich culinary culture of Taiwan. The internationally renowned dance group “Fun To Art” will also showcase the essence of Taiwan through dance performances titled “Island Traces,” “Taiwanese Drama Time Machine,” and “Hanbi Stars.”

There will also be Hakka-style floral lantern and tote bag DIY activities, the adorable OhBear painted nail art, Taiwanese-styled shaped egg pancakes, and a hands-on DIY session for the famous award-winning pineapple cakes.

Visitors to the Taiwan Pavilion at the TTE Travel Expo can share their experiences on social media with the hashtag #TaiwanTourismxTTE2024, and have a chance to win the prize of “Taiwan the Lucky Land” NT$5,000 accommodation voucher, with a total prize value of up to NT$500,000!

The Taiwan Pavilion at the TTE Travel Expo offers the most diverse, entertaining, and Taiwanese-style performances and activities.  To establish a platform for the exchange between the tourism industries of Taiwan and the Philippines, a Taiwan Tourism Workshop will be held on January 31 and February 1 at the Clark SMX Convention Center and Seda Manila Bay in Manila, respectively.

Travel industry representatives, airlines, and mainstream media from both Taiwan and the Philippines are invited to participate. The events, organized by the Tourism Division office in Bangkok, the Taiwan Trade Center in Manila, and the Taiwan Leisure Farms Development Association, aims to introduce Taiwan’s latest tourist attractions and various incentive programs from different perspectives.

This initiative aims to enable Philippine industry providers to gain firsthand information about Taiwan’s tourism, fostering opportunities for Philippine travelers to visit Taiwan.  There are many special offers for travelers coming to Taiwan from the Philippines.

Filipino tourists not only get visa-free entry but also free one-way airport MRT ticket during their self-guide tours.

Additionally, there is a chance to win a prize a NT$5,000 voucher through a lucky draw. For group travelers, there is a maximum subsidy of NT$50,000 on group fees.

Furthermore, the newly introduced “Taiwan Pass” offers various transportation options for only NT$2,500, including a three-day high-speed rail pass, a choice of one Taiwan MRT pass (Taipei Metro, Airport MRT, Taichung Metro, or Kaohsiung Metro), and one Taiwan Tourist Shuttle pass (Sun Moon Lake Line, Cingjing Line, Ali mountain Line, or Kenting Express Line).

With this one pass, you can travel around Taiwan conveniently.  According to statistics from international online travel platforms Skyscanner, Expedia, and Airbnb, Taiwan ranks high in the 2024 destination search rankings.

Tainan, in particular, not only made it to National Geographic Traveler’s list of “30 Coolest Places to Visit in 2024” but also featured in CNN’s report on “Where to go in 2024: The best places to visit,” making it one of the 24 globally recommended cities.
