Rolling Relief: SM Foundation’s Mobile Missions Bring Health to the Heart of Communities

In a renewed push to bring essential healthcare closer to underserved areas, SM Foundation recently wrapped up a three-day series of medical missions across Southern Luzon—proving once again that compassion, when paired with collaboration, can make a life-changing difference.

The foundation distributes free medicines and vitamins to support patients’ continued recovery and overall well-being.

Held from June 25 to 27, the initiative was more than a routine outreach; it was a coordinated effort with social good partners, each adding strength to the cause. On June 25, the Foundation joined forces with BDO Network Bank to reach residents of Tuy, Batangas. Here, nearly 800 medical services were offered free of charge—from doctor consultations and dental check-ups to diagnostic procedures like X-ray, ECG, and blood testing. The goal wasn’t just to treat, but also to detect potential health issues early, reflecting SM Foundation’s emphasis on preventive care.

The mission rolled onward the next day to Dasmariñas, Cavite, this time alongside Watsons. This partnership brought healthcare directly into the community, serving 1,663 residents with vital services that spanned routine medical consultations to diagnostic testing. Watsons, known for its focus on wellness, helped ensure the program addressed both immediate health concerns and longer-term well-being.

The final leg of the mission landed in Los Baños, Laguna on June 27, marking a special collaboration with the UPLB Beta Sigma Fraternity in celebration of its 75th anniversary. More than 300 individuals benefited from the free services, underscoring the power of tradition combined with public service.

Central to the success of these missions was SM Foundation’s Mobile Clinic, which followed the teams across the provinces. Fully equipped to provide on-site ECG and X-ray services, the mobile unit transformed makeshift venues into functional medical hubs—bridging the gap for communities often too far from hospitals.

On June 27, SM Foundation conducts a medical mission in Los Baños, Laguna, in collaboration with UP Beta Sigma Fraternity-Los Baños Chapter, as part of their 75th anniversary.

Through these efforts, SM Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to healthcare as a fundamental right, not a privilege. By uniting with banks, businesses, and volunteer groups driven by a shared sense of purpose, the Foundation continues to build a healthier future for Filipino communities—one province, one patient, and one partnership at a time.
