The event encouraged participants to embark on a series of challenges that tested their ability to connect with the culture and people of this remarkable place. These challenges ranged from taking onsite photos, sampling local cuisines, and experiencing Penang as a local while riding a Beca.

The Miss SHOPhia Shopping Hunt 5.0 event is not your typical competition. It’s a journey of exploration and celebration dedicated to preserving and promoting Penang’s rich cultural heritage. Through this competition, the historic streets of Penang became the stage for participants not only to race and complete challenges, but also to immerse themselves in Penang’s history, culture, architecture, and the harmonious coexistence of different cultures that define Penang.

Participants were also encouraged to delve into the vibrant street food scene, sampling everything from the fiery mee goreng to indulging in the famous tau and the thirst-quenching beverage, Ais Tingkap, as a testament to Penang’s culinary excellence. These culinary adventures not only tantalized the participants’ taste buds but also elevated Penang’s status as a food haven.

Malaysia truly is Asia’s melting pot. It was a powerful reminder that in Malaysia, diversity is celebrated, and it’s a place where different cultures come together to form a vibrant tapestry.
