Partnership with Culion Foundation delivers over 17,000 books, creating more learning opportunities for students in island communities.

For thousands of students in Culion, Palawan, access to books has become easier through a meaningful partnership that brings education and community development together.

Recognizing the importance of learning resources in shaping young minds, 2GO, one of the Philippines’ leading integrated transportation and logistics providers, joined forces with Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) to deliver 17,239 books to 19 public elementary and high schools across the island municipality.

The initiative forms part of CFI’s Education Program, which seeks to strengthen literacy, support classroom learning, and provide children with educational materials essential to their academic development.

Connecting Communities Through Education

For island communities like Culion, transporting educational supplies can present significant logistical challenges. Distance and geographical limitations often make it difficult for schools to receive donated materials.

Through its nationwide transportation and logistics network, 2GO helped bridge these challenges by ensuring that thousands of books reached their intended beneficiaries.

The partnership highlights how transportation companies can contribute to social development by using their existing resources and expertise to support communities beyond major cities.

2GO President and CEO Frederic DyBuncio emphasized that the company’s responsibility extends beyond moving cargo and connecting destinations.

“At 2GO, we believe our role goes beyond providing transport and logistics solutions. By working with partners like the Culion Foundation, we leverage our nationwide reach to help address community needs and support education initiatives that create more opportunities for the next generation,” DyBuncio said.

He added that connecting the country also means enabling more Filipinos to participate in and benefit from national growth.

Opening Doors to Brighter Futures

For Culion Foundation, the collaboration represents an important contribution to its continuing mission of improving educational opportunities in underserved communities.

CFI Executive Director Eugenio M. Caccam Jr. acknowledged the vital role of private-sector partnerships in bringing essential resources to students.

“Our partnership with 2GO has been instrumental in helping us bring donated books to public schools across Culion,” Caccam said.

He stressed that combining the strengths of private companies and community organizations can create a lasting positive impact on children’s education.

Beyond the delivery of books, the initiative demonstrates the value of collaboration in addressing educational needs in geographically isolated areas.

By connecting donors, schools, and communities, 2GO and Culion Foundation are helping make learning materials more accessible while supporting efforts to improve literacy and educational development.

For the students of Culion, these books represent more than additional classroom resources. They offer opportunities to discover new knowledge, develop essential skills, and pursue their dreams.

Through initiatives like this, 2GO continues to demonstrate that meaningful connections are not measured only by destinations reached, but also by the opportunities created for Filipino communities.
