Manulife Philippines has strengthened its sustainability and financial wellness initiatives, earning international and local recognition for programs designed to help Filipinos build more resilient, healthier, and financially secure futures.
The company was named Champion of Sustainable Community Impact Asia 2026 by London-based business and finance publication Capital Finance International (CFI.co). The recognition highlighted Manulife Philippines’ approach to combining financial education, environmental restoration, and community development.
Manulife also received a Philippine Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines for its campaign, “Filipinos’ Evolving View on Longevity: Accelerating Longevity Thought Leadership in the Philippine Life Insurance Sector.”
“For nearly 120 years, Manulife has stood alongside Filipinos. These awards matter because they reflect the difference we make in the lives of the farmers, students, and families we seek to improve,” said Rahul Hora, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Philippines.
A major component of the company’s community efforts is Peso Smart, a financial literacy program launched in 2017. It has reached more than 4,000 learners in 18 public elementary schools, teaching practical concepts including budgeting, saving, insurance, and financial safety.
In 2026, Manulife expanded the initiative through a partnership with Haribon Foundation and the Corazon Sanchez Atayde Memorial Foundation. The collaboration connects financial education with environmental restoration while providing participating farmers with practical financial knowledge that can support their families and communities.
Environmental action is also being pursued through Manulife Impact Forests. By the end of 2025, more than 31,000 seedlings, including 5,000 mangroves, had been planted across Quezon and Zambales. The ridge-to-reef initiative is intended to support biodiversity, climate resilience, livelihoods, and ecosystem restoration.
Peso Smart is expected to expand to 26 schools in 2026 and 30 schools in 2027.
Meanwhile, Manulife’s Quill-winning longevity campaign used findings from the Asia Care Survey 2025 and its #FYP: Future-Proofing Young Pinoys study to encourage Filipinos to reconsider what living longer means.
Through digital content, media engagement, social storytelling, events, and the “Time to Move: The Manulife Longevity Symposium,” the campaign emphasized financial independence, health, well-being, and purpose.
“Together, these awards move us closer to our ambition: to be Filipino customers’ no. 1 choice for trusted financial advice,” Hora said, adding that the recognitions demonstrate how community impact and insight-led thought leadership can help more Filipinos “live better for longer.”
