Bimby Aquino Embraces Adulthood by Putting Family Health First

At 19, Bimby Aquino is entering adulthood with a new sense of responsibility—one centered not only on building his own future, but also on looking after the people who have long been part of his life.

For his first official brand endorsement as an adult, Bimby has partnered with iCare HMO, marking a personal milestone shaped by his family’s experiences with healthcare. Growing up while his mother, Kris Aquino, faced ongoing autoimmune illnesses gave him an early perspective on the importance of medical access and health protection.

“Health should not be a privilege, nor should it be a struggle. It should be a given,” Bimby said. “I’m partnering with iCare because every family deserves the care we fought so hard for.”

That experience has influenced how he approaches his new independence. Instead of viewing adulthood simply as having greater freedom, Bimby sees it as an opportunity to take greater responsibility for those around him.

As part of this new chapter, he secured iCare HMO coverage for himself, his brother, and members of their household staff who have helped care for him and his family through the years.

“Even if we’re not blood-related, they took care of us. They’re really part of my family and they deserve to have that right to be healthy,” he shared.

For Bimby, being able to provide for his loved ones has become one of the meaningful parts of growing older.

“I love having freedom to provide for my mom and brother. It feels nice to be a responsible member of the family,” he added.

His partnership with iCare forms part of the company’s “Brave Ahead” campaign, which encourages young adults to consider health protection as they begin earning, building careers, and taking on greater family responsibilities.

Bimby credits his mother with teaching him to think about health before problems arise.

“My mom always told me that if you don’t take care of your health at an early age, your health problems might catch up to you,” he said. “As early as you can, make sure that your health is well taken care of.”

iCare’s Individual and Family Plans allow principal enrollment beginning at age 18, with benefits that may include outpatient consultations, annual physical examinations, hospitalization, and accredited emergency care depending on the selected plan.

For Bimby, stepping into adulthood is becoming less about having every answer and more about making thoughtful choices early—including protecting the people he considers family.
