Public school teachers across the Philippines are set to gain more convenient access to financial services as Globe Business and Chinabank Savings (CBS) strengthen their collaboration through mobile technology.
The partnership equips CBS field teams with 215 Samsung tablets powered by GPlan Biz, allowing officers to bring selected banking and credit services directly to school communities. The initiative addresses a common challenge among educators, particularly those assigned far from commercial areas, who may find it difficult to leave their classrooms during working hours to visit a bank branch.
Instead of requiring teachers to travel, CBS field officers can now conduct transactions and provide assistance at school sites. The tablets come with reliable mobile data, unlimited calls and texts, and landline connectivity, helping field personnel communicate and perform essential tasks while on the move.
CBS, which manages the initiative through its 257 branches nationwide, can use the mobile setup to support the processing of non-collateral loans under the Department of Education’s Automatic Payroll Deduction System (APDS). Field officers can also manage customer portfolios, respond to inquiries, and address concerns in real time.
Globe Business Vice President Glenn Estrella said technology can help organizations improve customer service beyond the traditional office environment. Providing CBS teams with secure connectivity and mobile tools, he said, enables field personnel to work more efficiently while responding faster to educators and the communities they serve.
Chinabank Savings President James Christian T. Dee also emphasized the important role of field officers in connecting the bank with the education sector. With dependable digital tools, he said, CBS can make financial assistance more accessible to both teaching and non-teaching personnel nationwide.
The collaboration also reflects how digital transformation can create practical improvements in everyday financial accessibility. Rather than limiting technology upgrades to internal banking operations, the partnership brings digital capabilities directly to customers who may otherwise face geographical and scheduling barriers.
For Globe Business, the deployment supports enterprises serving important sectors of society by providing the digital infrastructure needed to expand their reach. For Chinabank Savings, it strengthens its continuing efforts to serve the education community through more responsive and accessible financial solutions.
As the country observes National Teachers’ Month, the initiative provides another form of support for educators: making essential financial services easier to reach. Through mobile connectivity and field-based assistance, teachers can spend less time traveling to branches and more time focusing on their responsibilities in the classroom.
