Filipino tennis star Alex Eala is set to bring world-class tennis closer to her home supporters when she returns to the Philippines for a special exhibition match on December 8 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
Eala will go up against Indonesian standout Janice Tjen in “Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate,” an event organized by Tatler Sports that combines competitive tennis with a celebration of Filipino pride and sporting excellence.
The Philippine Arena, which can accommodate more than 50,000 spectators, will provide a major stage for Eala’s homecoming and give local fans an opportunity to watch one of Southeast Asia’s leading tennis players in action.
In a video message, Eala expressed excitement about playing before a home crowd and said she hopes the event will help inspire the next generation of Filipino tennis players.
Eala and Tjen are already familiar with each other on court. The two previously joined forces in doubles at the Abu Dhabi Open, advancing to the semifinals.
Currently ranked No. 18 in the WTA rankings, Eala continues to strengthen her international presence. At the US Open, she reached the third round after convincing victories over Mary Stoiana and Oleksandra Oliynykova.
Her December appearance promises to be more than an exhibition—it will be a homecoming celebration for Philippine tennis.
