SM Warehouses Expands E-Commerce Logistics Network

SM Warehouses provides large-scale logistics and distribution spaces across the Philippines, ranging from ready-to-move-in buildings to custom build-to-suit facilities, covering 5,000 sqm to over 120,000 sqm.

SM Warehouses is strengthening its role in the country’s fast-growing e-commerce sector with the addition of a new 40,000-square-meter logistics facility in Pasig City for Shopee partners SPX Express (SPX) and Scommerce Philippines, Inc. (Scommerce).

The new facility brings SM Prime Holdings, Inc.’s total logistics space dedicated to Shopee’s logistics partners to more than 126,000 square meters across Pasig and Laguna.

The Pasig facility complements the approximately 86,000 square meters leased by SPX at SM Prime’s 130,000-square-meter Silangan Warehouse complex in Laguna. Together, the two locations are designed to support different stages of the e-commerce delivery network while improving the movement of goods to customers.

“Our strengthening relationship with SPX and Scommerce reflects our commitment to supporting businesses and local MSMEs with well-located, adaptable spaces that improve efficiency and enable long-term growth,” said Alexis Ortiga, Business Unit Head of SM Prime’s Commercial Properties Group.

SPX provides logistics and delivery services to businesses across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Brazil, while Scommerce offers warehousing and fulfillment solutions to sellers and businesses operating on the Shopee platform.

The newly turned-over Pasig site will serve as SPX’s Mega First Mile hub and urban distribution center. Its strategic location brings inventory closer to customers in Metro Manila, helping increase processing capacity and reduce delivery times.

“As e-commerce evolves, our logistics infrastructure must grow with it,” said Martin Yu, Head of SPX Express.

Yu said the Silangan facility established a strong operational base for the company, while the new Pasig hub allows SPX to move closer to Metro Manila customers and improve processing and delivery efficiency.

The Silangan Warehouse complex, meanwhile, supports larger-scale regional fulfillment and sorting operations. Its location provides an important connection between Southern Luzon and SPX’s nationwide distribution network.

The combination of a large regional facility and an urban hub reflects the changing requirements of e-commerce logistics. Regional warehouses provide the space needed for high-volume sorting and fulfillment, while strategically located city facilities help shorten the distance between products and their final destinations.

Beyond its partnership with SPX and Scommerce, SM Warehouses continues to expand its logistics and distribution portfolio across the Philippines. The company offers ready-to-move-in warehouses, greenfield spaces and customized build-to-suit facilities.

Available spaces range from approximately 5,000 square meters to more than 120,000 square meters, providing businesses with flexible options based on their operational and expansion requirements.

As online shopping continues to reshape the movement of goods, SM Warehouses is positioning its logistics facilities to support growing businesses, sellers and delivery networks with strategically located spaces designed for scale and efficiency.
