The fourth edition of Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) 2026 drew more than 12,000 delegates from around the globe, turning the SMX Convention Center Manila into a vibrant meeting ground for technology innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, gamers, and creators. Held under the theme Decoded: Deployed, this year’s gathering highlighted how blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital assets have progressed from concepts and discussions into practical tools already transforming industries and communities.

Over three days, attendees explored how emerging technologies are reshaping governance, finance, business operations, and digital engagement. More than 150 speakers from the Philippines and overseas shared their expertise on topics ranging from blockchain adoption and AI innovation to cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and regulatory frameworks. International participation accounted for more than half of the speaker lineup, underscoring the event’s growing global significance.

One of the event’s key highlights was the Future of Trust: A Leaders Forum on Technology and Governance, which brought together government officials, regulators, industry leaders, and technology advocates. Discussions focused on building transparent, accountable, and future-ready institutions through responsible innovation. Participants emphasized that technology alone cannot drive meaningful transformation; collaboration among public and private sectors remains essential for sustainable progress.

For PBW Co-Founder Chezka Gonzales, the event represented the realization of a long-standing vision to elevate the country’s role in the global technology ecosystem.

She noted that Philippine Blockchain Week was created not only to showcase innovation but also to create opportunities where ideas evolve into businesses, partnerships, and initiatives that benefit Filipinos. Throughout the event, that vision was evident as startups connected with investors, enterprises engaged with emerging technology providers, and policymakers exchanged perspectives with industry leaders.

PBW 2026 also reinforced the Philippines’ growing reputation as a regional innovation hub. Delegates and speakers from Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East participated in discussions and collaborations focused on the future of digital transformation.

Among the notable speakers was Michael Terpin, often referred to as the “Godfather of Crypto.” He highlighted the Philippines’ long-standing influence in digital innovation, citing the country’s strong social media adoption and its pivotal role in the rise of blockchain-based gaming communities.

Beyond business and technology discussions, the event celebrated the intersection of innovation, entertainment, and community engagement. The launch of Viral PH highlighted opportunities within the creator economy, while the ALT+TAB Gaming and Music Festival combined esports, gaming, music, and digital culture into a unique experience for attendees. Startup showcases, hackathons, networking sessions, esports competitions, and the Founders Arena further encouraged collaboration among innovators, investors, and ecosystem builders.

Practical applications of blockchain technology were also a major focus. Discussions on tokenized real-world assets demonstrated how digital technologies are creating new opportunities for accessibility and cross-border transactions. According to Varun Chugh, External Financial Advisor of BiGod Token, tokenization can simplify ownership and transfer of traditionally complex assets such as gold, making them more accessible to a broader audience.

Supported by a wide range of sponsors, exhibitors, and ecosystem partners, Philippine Blockchain Week 2026 successfully demonstrated the rapid maturation of the country’s digital economy. With thousands of participants, global thought leaders, and numerous partnerships formed throughout the event, PBW 2026 reflected a significant shift in the industry.

The message throughout the conference was clear: blockchain and emerging technologies are no longer ideas reserved for the future. They are already being implemented today, helping shape industries, communities, and economies in the Philippines and beyond. The journey has moved beyond understanding the technology—the focus is now on building with it.
