Megaworld Hotels & Resorts and Lyceum of the Philippines – Batangas forge strategic partnership aiming to elevate hospitality education.

The future of Philippine hospitality education continues to evolve as Megaworld Hotels & Resorts and Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas formalized a new partnership aimed at preparing the next generation of Filipino tourism and hospitality professionals. The collaboration was officially sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on May 12, 2026, at the LPU Batangas campus.

The event highlighted more than just a formal agreement. Representatives from both institutions participated in a ceremonial Sampaguita planting activity at the university’s Riverside Campus, symbolizing their shared commitment to growth, Filipino values, and sustainable development within the hospitality sector.

At the center of the partnership is the Sampaguita advocacy of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, which promotes a service philosophy rooted in love, honor, dignity, healing, and authentic Filipino hospitality. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to strengthen experience-based education by combining academic learning with real-world industry exposure.

The partnership seeks to create more opportunities for students pursuing careers in hospitality and tourism by providing access to internships, on-the-job training, and immersive learning experiences across Megaworld Hotels & Resorts properties nationwide. Students from LPU Batangas will gain firsthand exposure to hotel operations, guest relations, and hospitality management practices that reflect current industry standards.

Beyond internships, the collaboration also focuses on curriculum enhancement and specialized training programs designed to address the changing demands of the tourism industry. New certification and micro-credential programs are expected to cover emerging fields such as Halal Certification, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), along with other specialized tourism disciplines.

The initiative also reflects the hospitality group’s long-term vision for workforce development as Megaworld Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its portfolio of properties in the coming years. With more hotels and tourism developments underway, the company anticipates growing demand for trained hospitality professionals across different operational and leadership roles.

LPU Batangas, meanwhile, will integrate the Sampaguita Project into its campus initiatives to further promote Filipino culture, sustainability, and hospitality excellence among students and local communities. The university will also work closely with industry experts through seminars, workshops, and professional training sessions facilitated by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.
