Senator Bam Aquino is calling for stronger and more sustained government support for the Philippine creative industry, highlighting its growing potential to generate jobs, inspire the youth, and position Filipino talent more prominently on the global stage.
For Aquino, the country’s creative sector is more than just entertainment—it is an economic driver waiting to be fully maximized. He stressed that Filipino artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers, designers, and digital creators possess world-class talent that deserves better support through long-term planning, increased funding, and stronger institutional backing.
“Iyong ating creative industry, isa ’yan sa mga strength natin na kailangan talagang bigyan ng tamang suporta, tamang pondo, at tamang plano,” Aquino said, emphasizing that the sector could become one of the pillars of the Philippine economy if given the proper resources and attention.

Aquino believes investing in creativity will not only open more livelihood opportunities for Filipinos but also strengthen the country’s cultural identity globally. He pointed out that Filipino creatives continue to excel internationally despite limited access to platforms, funding, and infrastructure.
The senator has consistently championed Filipino talent through the years. During both the 2022 and 2025 election campaigns, Aquino collaborated with local artists and musicians to celebrate homegrown creativity. He also underscored the power of Original Pilipino Music during the People Power 40 Kick-Off Concert, where Filipino artistry took center stage.
Recently, Aquino renewed his support for the local music industry by filing Senate Resolution No. 370 honoring BINI for becoming the first Filipino group to perform at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

The all-female P-Pop sensation—composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena—received a parchment copy of the resolution after it was formally adopted by the Senate.
In his sponsorship speech, Aquino described BINI’s milestone as a historic achievement for the Philippines and a reflection of the growing global recognition of Filipino talent.
“Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, isang Filipino group ang nagtanghal sa isa sa pinakamalaking music festivals sa buong mundo,” Aquino said. “Masasabi natin na ang tagumpay na ito ay isang salamin ng galing at talento ng Pilipino sa pandaigdigang entablado.”
Aquino also praised the group for proudly incorporating Filipino identity into their performances through music, choreography, and fashion during their Coachella appearances last April 10 and 17, 2026.
For the senator, BINI’s success sends a powerful message to young Filipinos dreaming of making it internationally. He believes achievements like these prove that local talent can compete on the world stage when given enough support and opportunities.
Members of BINI echoed Aquino’s call for stronger backing for Filipino creatives. During an interview, the group emphasized that recognition should not stop with established artists but should also extend to emerging creatives who lack resources and exposure.
Maloi shared that many talented Filipinos still struggle to find platforms where they can showcase their abilities, while Gwen highlighted the immense global potential of Filipino artistry. Stacey added that now is the perfect time for Filipino culture, creativity, and talent to gain wider international recognition.
As the Philippine creative industry continues to expand through music, film, digital content, and design, Aquino hopes stronger government investment will help unlock even more opportunities for Filipino creatives—turning talent into jobs, industries, and global success stories.
