Travel across the Philippines is becoming more connected as 2GO Group, Inc. teams up with Vallacar Transit, Inc. to improve the way passengers move between sea and land transport hubs. The collaboration introduces dedicated shuttle services designed to make inter-island journeys smoother and more convenient for travelers.
The partnership officially began with shuttle operations linking Nasipit Port to the Ceres Terminal in Butuan City. More routes are expected to roll out soon, including connections in Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, strengthening access to major gateways across the country. By combining ferry and bus services into a more coordinated system, the initiative aims to reduce travel stress and shorten transfer times for passengers arriving from sea voyages.
Under the setup, passengers traveling with 2GO can arrange shuttle transportation before leaving the vessel, allowing them to transfer directly from the port to land terminals without the hassle of finding separate transportation. The coordination between ferry arrivals and bus departures also helps create a more organized and efficient travel flow, especially for those heading to nearby provinces or continuing long-distance journeys.
According to Vallacar Transit Vice President for Legal Atty. Collin Derk Isidto, the partnership is intended to improve accessibility for Filipinos traveling between islands and provincial destinations. By strengthening the connection between ports and land terminals, the collaboration supports more reliable mobility for commuters, tourists, and provincial travelers alike.
For 2GO Travel Business Unit Head Francis O. Chua, the initiative goes beyond convenience. He emphasized that better transport connectivity can also create more opportunities for entrepreneurs, local communities, and travelers seeking easier access to destinations around the country.
The partnership reflects 2GO’s broader goal of building a more integrated transport and logistics network nationwide. Both companies are also exploring the possibility of expanding shuttle services to additional ports and terminals in the future, paving the way for more connected and accessible travel experiences for Filipinos.
